need to replace 2002 Regal 3860 Commodore Hot Water Heater. Any suggestions on the simplest way? Screws to the compartment seem to be below the cabinet ? Hope someone has done; Thank you I replaced mine on my 2006 3860. The water heater was underneath the aft bunk in the aft cabin.
It was a real B*tch to get to it. There is no "easy" way to do the project.
I had to pretty much disassemble the aft bunk to get to the screws on the tank. I had to purchase a 24" long Phillips head screwdriver and do contortions to work around the tank.
The electrical part was the easiest portion of the replacement. Once you get it out, you can inspect the plumbing parts to figure out what you can reuse and what you need to replace.
It was a 2 day project. But the new tank has lasted me 11 years so far.
