Bought our boat end of August 2019. Here's my "little issues" list so far : 1.) Had a problem with the ProMariner ProSafe ground fault monitor; replaced the entire system with a new version from ProMariner . The original one, according to them, actually can fail and create a ground fault! 2.) Starboard tachometer is all over the place but responds to smacking it; other gauges have similar issues. Port temp reading very low, starboard oil pressure reading high; replacing the entire gauge set in the spring. 3.) Window leak on port side (as noted in another thread). Will attack in the spring. 4.) Windlass switch on the cockpit panel does nothing. The foot controls on the bow work, hoping it is just the switch that is bad. 5.) Original Raymarine RAY54 had a very frayed cord that would just disintegrate more each time I picked up the mic. Contacted Raymarine, this has not been manufactured in over 10 years so they won't repair. Option through them was to get a new one at a "significant discount" which ended up being 3x as much as a new Standard Horizon model. Only downside is, there is a 1/2" gap underneath the radio. This winter will have a black acrylic panel laser etched to cover the hole a bit better. I will post some pics of the final product next year. 6.) Camper canvas is too small/has shrunk. Trying to zip it all up was just not happening, even after being out in the sun for a while. At some point the radar arch must have been replaced too, because the snaps are not all there to affix the top! I believe it is the original, it's Taylor Made and the isinglass is crystal clear but the panels are just way too small - they at least need new zippers. Will likely have the entire canvas replaced next year. 7.) The bilge appears to be gathering more water than I think it should; often I will step on the swim platform from the dock, and the bilge pump will run for ~10 seconds or so. This can happen a few times a day, so it is taking on water from somewhere. Need to try and figure this one out... 8.) The boat lists a bit to the starboard side (it's noticeable) when docked and nobody is onboard. Unsure on why that is happening. Is that normal? I don't have any cargo noticeably on one side. 9.) The original Kenwood radio loses the display as soon as you touch it. I would like to replace this with a Fusion system, but I am not sure I can use the same wires for the Aeware remote for the Fusion version. I am also not sure if I can run a new line over to the radio somehow if I can't reuse the same wires. Something again to look at in the spring. 10.) When hauling out, the port outdrive decided to "screech" when shifting back to neutral; placing it in forward or reverse was normal. Soon as I would go back into neutral, a loud screech/bell type sound is heard again. Since it was going out, has not been addressed yet. The mechanic will be pulling both outdrives towards the end of November and going through them completely. Anyone else had this issue? Of course it was fine up until that point.
It's not all bad. The rest of the boat is great! For now...

6... you can get zipper extensions and/or snap extenders. I used zipper extensions on one of my boats and it work out great. Basically it’s an entire zipper that zoos into the length of your existing zipper. This can close a 1/2 possibly 3/4 inch gap.

rlazar thanks - I will definitely explore that route, considering I may have a lot of other expenses going on in the beginning of the season! Were they something you just had a canvas shop make up for you?

This is awesome. Thanks so much - I will pilot these before spending thousands on all new canvas for sure.

interesting post, it will take me some time to reply but will try to answer each point point by point. Just FYI, I replaced a Kenwood CD Head unit with a Fusion mechless(no CD player) unit about 4 years ago, it is bluetooth capable and we can link to it with any linked smart phone up to about 100' away from the boat on the dock and link/stream/adjust anything from the phone to it including the source, volume, repeat/skip/jump,etc. no problem. I made a 1/4" plexiglas adaptor plate to go over the existing Kenwood opening and allow the Fusion to mount into its opening. Painted back side of plexiglas flat black so you cant see behind Fusion unit when mounted in opening. As front of panel doesnt have any paint on it it can be cleaned without disturbing back painted plate. Fusion has two stereo RCA line outs and a sub out. Stereo line outs going to a 4 channel JL Audio 600 watt RMS amp(two channel speaker out to 7" JL two ways in the radar arch and the second 2 channels to 4X Klipsch 8 ohm outdoor speakers (2 each side in parallel giving a 4 ohm load to the amp per channel) and the sub out to a JL 600 watt RMS single channel sub amp. Using one stereo pair of speaker outs from the Fusion to power the old Bose system speakers in the salon. Interesting this is a "post quick reply" per the forum?

Wondering if you had a full survey done before purchasing it? If so and surveyor was really good there might be some info in the survey addressing some of your problems. Best news is that you dont have any problems with the engines. Suspect the bellows on the outdrives need replacing and if bad that is where the water is getting into your bilge? Not sure what you mean "outdrive" screeching when pulling out? Boat mostly on trailer then shifting from FWD to neutral with engine running? Check outdrive lower unit lube for water and also change it if no water found in lube.

Like gofast said, I would suspect the bellows first for the water intrusion. You are going to want to get that rectified ASAP.
For the stereo remote, Fusion uses a NMEA 2000 network cable for that connection.
My 28 express had a safety switch at the helm for the windlass hat had to be on before the windlass would operate from the helm.

Not sure what you mean "outdrive" screeching when pulling out? Boat mostly on trailer then shifting from FWD to neutral with engine running? Check outdrive lower unit lube for water and also change it if no water found in lube. Had a full survey done and he did note that there was standing water in the bilge at the time of the survey. But, he did mention to have the engines and outdrives checked by a mechanic (which he is not). The outdrives are being pulled in a few weeks for a full run-through so we will see what they find out. What I meant about hauling out, the boat was being transported from my slip over to the haul out area for the winter. No trailer for this boat. The boat was in the water and I can only describe the noise as a loud screeching or like a school bell ringing. Starting the engine was fine, let it warm up for maybe 5-10 minutes before backing it out of the spot. It's twins so I used the throttles only for control... placed them both in reverse and the boat went into gear just fine. Moved the port throttle forward to swing the bow to starboard once I cleared the pylon and when hitting the neutral position the "bell ringing" sound was heard slightly until it went into forward. Once the bow was close to 90 degrees from the slip, moved the starboard throttle back forward and went to the end of the docks, then when I went to drop the port throttle back into reverse to now swing the bow to port, the screeching was heard again, only in the neutral position. Went out to the lake and got the drives warmed up a bit and they ran smoothly. Got back to the marina and it was screeching again only in neutral (and was constant) when I tried to navigate into the haul out / sling area.

I was worried about the need for a network cable, although I do seem to recall they have a remote that might not need it. I am pretty sure my boat is pre-NEMA 2000. I'll keep researching over the winter to see what I can do; I'd hate to reuse that "spa" remote (Aeware) if I don't need to, would prefer one with a display at the helm.

Could the screeching be coming from your engine serpentine belt? Not sure why it would only screech while in neutral though.

On my Mercs I had a similar screeching sound under certain conditions that didn’t really fit a consistent pattern. Turned out one of the belt tensioners was going bad.

Could the screeching be coming from your engine serpentine belt? Not sure why it would only screech while in neutral though. Agree, serpentine belt and as you most likely have power steering the power steering pump interface with the belt could add to the screeching (or be the actual cause)? Just look at the belt and as your boat is a 2005 and most likely belt never changed you might want to change both belts out when you have time (just find a equivalent Dayco or Gates belt, probably around $30/$40 each vs. the VP belt ($60+)! You could remove one of the belts and take it to a auto parts dealer who can measure the belt and sell you the equivalent for 1/2 the price of a VP part? If it was idler pulley you should have that noise all the time?
