Looking for some advice on keeping our new to us 2013 28 Express looking as fantastic as it does today!
My marina delivered the boat clean and waxed, not sure what they used, but I am looking for suggestions on in between maintenance. We have a black hull and understand the upkeep can be quite a challenge if not kept up with. Products to use, frequency, and application (by hand or buffer)
Thank you in advance for any and all suggestions!

I like the 3M quick wax and the 3M brand of waxes. For me, I share your pain as I have the dark blue hull. I use the quick wax almost after every outing to just clean up a little bit and once I pull the boat from the water, I use the 3M regular wax. I have also had good luck with shurhold (see the post under discounts)

I have a red hull Under florida sun so go figure... My boat has an rict diet (done by myself) of hand applied wax every 3 months. I had been used Shure hold Propolish but 6 months ago i switched to a pae wax (https://www.collinite.com/marine-wax/fleetwax-pae-wax/) that its a little bit harder to apply by hand but its said that pae waxes has better endurance. Since my boat is on a lift i rather to work manually inead of being on the raft with my orbital polisher. After 4 years the hull doesnt look like new because the sun has taken its toll but i would say is at 90% of what used to be when i bought it . (Anyway im a perfectionist so im pretty sure mo of the people wouldn't notice the difference) . And i havent never polished the hull so may be in a year or so i might has it polished to bring it back to almo showroom condition.
I dont know how to po pictures in this forum to show a couple of my boat..

i use Aurora quick shine to spray and wipe as a detailer . It does the best job removing the blac streaks And water marks and leaves the surface protected and shiny. All of the Aurora products are top notch, though you have to order them as nobody has them locally that I know of.
On Lake George: After the pollen is done covering your boat with a yellow haze which will be sometime in June, I start over and put on a coat of Aurora boat shine which is a polymer coating that works like a wax but is a bit easier to work with. Anchor in log bay or Go to a shallow spot in sandy bay. Those are the easiest places to work on the hull and reach everything.
Oh, and make sure you carry plenty of microfiber rags at all times.

Thank you all for your suggestions! The previous owner of the boat is docked just on the other side of the dock... cant have him looking at a dull boat!!!
yes I have noticed as well that there tends to be some letters missing from words. Makes for some interesting guessing at times!

Update
Was up at Castaway for the better part of yesterday getting the boat all shined up! I took the advice of LG and went with the Aurora products. The boat was already shiny but WOW what a difference a fresh coat of Aurora Boat Shine can make!
Looks like my day off chore list just got a bit busier!

That LG can infect you with his gel coat shine! I always envy how clean his boats look.

I’m planning on doing the same thing this Friday afternoon. Hopefully the pollen is all done, that yellow mess drives me crazy.

3 years in on my 2016 28 Express with black hull and still looking fantastic. I Am on a freshwater lake (Okanagan) and on a lift so I guess it helps! Only thing that's been on the hull is some wax beginning of each season!

My spell checker seems to work fine, I believe it depends on your operating system and what browser you use? (I use google chrome). I just auto correcte two wors in this mail so if you see a spelling mistake let me know, I will take back everything I said PS: This rourid (word) was left intentionally misspelled!

I have used Collonite Fleet Wax on all my boats over the years and always find it keeps the shine.

I've had (2) cruisers, a 1995 Crownline 250cr & my current 2003 Regal 2665. The 250cr was 10 years old and had a beautiful burgundy hull that was slightly dull when I purchased it. It was my first fiberglass boat and it took me a couple years to find/use products that I was happy with. Not just the polish/wax but the tools and techniques too. After finally getting the 250cr hull near perfect, I buffed the hull every Spring with Meguiar's Scratch X 2.0 and then followed up with their Premium Flagship Marine Wax and would apply the wax several more times over the summer. I maintained that near perfect hull for the 9 years I had it and have been using the same process and products on the newer Regal for the last 6 seasons. I have some advantages in that I trailer our boat and store it in a hoop garage so sun, wind, rain and snow are not as much of a factor. Boating in clean, fresh water is another benefit. We also wipe down the hull at the ramp every time we pull out. In general, I will also wash/wipe down the boat with lake water when at the sand beaches. Our 2665 is now 16 years old and still looks very, "Regal"!

I used 3M Marine Ultra Performance Paste Wax for my first time this year. I will say the paste wax is very hard to apply and remove, much harder then a normal marine wax. I will say it is holding up very well so far. Attachments:
