We have a 2001 4160 and need a new (from scratch) port side aft curtain (son cant find the old one!). We have a excellent marine canvas shop about 2 miles from our lake but they need to go to the vessel and measure the opening using a laser measurement device to get a exact fit and also determine the size of the zipper (#8 / #10 etc) and condition or the adjoining zippers that the new aft curtain will have to zip into. From my understanding there are so many variables (mainly the length/size and position of the zipper and especially snaps that were installed into the fiberglass when your boat was built it is almost impossible to just make a new piece that will just fit! I suggest you contact a reputable canvas shop and get their thoughts on just making a ready to install panel or, most likly needing to go to vessel and make measurement first. FYI, our new panel with zipper replacements on both sides of the new panel was quoted at $600 but I know they will do a great job, a 5 star business from all social media and dock mates in our area.
Where are you located? Nothing in your salutation?

I agree with the moderator, find a good local canvass shop and use them. Every boat has some differences that will require adjustment even if you could buy from regal so they don't do that. Zipper lengths, size, snap positions, and even distance from hard top or Bimini to windshield can be different so it's much better to have one measured and built to spec of your boat.

Incognito, we have the same model but 2002. We had a complete new cover made, including a window installed in the aft that lifts out of sight when underway. Chance to get a little creative when deciding exactly how much of the cockpit you want to enclose. We chose to enclose it all. Cost was about $3000 when we had it done a couple years ago. Need to choose the right thickness of "glass" to accommodate if you are planning to roll it up (side windows) or have it remain in place. If you are leaving it in place, there is a thicker version that after 3 years is as clear as new glass. We had a custom cover made at the same time as the rest of the work was done, so the glass remains covered when not in use. Really worth the minor additional cost, keeps the sun off the cockpit and preserves the glass like new. i'd attach some pics if you think it will help

Regal must have templates. Do we know who provided the original tops/clears? Letas Top Shop is Bayliner, Trophy and Maxum. Great Lakes Boat Tops have the templates for many other manufacturers.

Dont think templates are good after first new install, too may variables after vessel is a few years old. Go with a local canvas shop that actually comes to boat and measures exactly what is needed. Remember, canvas OEM makes the panels per "typical" template and then Regal installs them but locating the screw in fasteners on the hull based on the panel they receive, after that it is a long shot that he template will work again?

I agree with GoFast, when I had to replace my Isinglass, I took the old ones to a local canvass shop thinking they could just whip up some new ones off them as a pattern, however, the guy really wanted to go out with the old ones and measure again just to be sure. The other thing he did was not install any snaps until the new ones were zippered in and setting correctly and then he added the snaps where they needed to be. That is the recommended approach to getting them to fit right.

Just ordered a replacement per the Bayliner template from Letas Top Shop. Great reviews on the Bayliner owners club forum. They send video instructions, snaps and a snap tool. We'll see.

I have a 2006 3860.
ALL of my canvas was made by an outfit called Gioia Sails, in NJ.
Regal confirmed that this was the company, and "should" have templates to spit out pieces, or a complete set of canvas.
All I needed to do was contact them and give them my HIN and tell them what I needed.
BUT..... when I called them, they INSISTED they did not make the canvas for my boat.
In Spite of numerous Manufacturing tags with their name on them all around the canvas on my boat.
WTH !?

Timp, my suggestion would be to take some photo's of the tags and send to them. I'm very curious if Regal provided the templates them???
Letas needed my HIN too. They immediately got back to me with my exact needs and pricing. They would have built a camper top if I wanted to upgrade.

Timp4411, I had the same issue with Gioia Sails in Long Branch New Jersey. They are the first company I called when I tried to get new Isinglass for my boat, their tags were on all of my canvass. However, they said they couldn't do anything unless they saw the boat. I had my 2006 4450 at the time. I think decided to use a local canvass shop.

OK, still agree that folks need a local canvas shop to go to vessel, make measurements, then make canvas , then go to boat to install based on current locations of twist to lock fasteners anywhere on the boat, then install grommets to match the current 1/4 turn twist to lock fasteners!.

Hey Guys,
I had a complete rear enclosure made for my 'new to me' 06 4460 by a local upholstery shop that does marine work. Simply took a picture of another 4460 that had the kind of enclosure and openings I wanted. Also had a 'zipper opening' built into the isinglass panel in front of the pilot seat as there is not much airflow on a hot day to cool the captain. The original canvas enclosure for my boat was done by Gioia Sails South, Lakewood NJ, and for the most part, has held up well. When the isinglass is in need of replacement, I will go back to the same shop to put new isinglass in the fabric sections. It is not a difficult job to replace or build anything to do with a Regal top/enclosure by any competent shop. One thing to note, the panels that are mounted for the cockpit enclosure are a tight fit, and they shrink over time...not a pleasant job to have to snap up again after removal!!

Ok, I'll be the first to admit I can be a little crazy and have a tendency to bite off more than I can chew, but....on my 3560 two years ago, I had several bad panels and broken zippers and decided I just needed to replace it all. After having one local vendor just never show up to look at the boat to quote and another that did finally get to the boat only to give me what I thought was a way crazy $$, I decided to do it myself.
Bought a $700ish industrial sewing machine from Sailrite, watched a butt load of YouTube videos, bought all the materials and went to town. Took me about 4 week's working on it part time to make the complete enclosure including the top. All in, I think I spent about $2000 or so and I still have the sewing machine that I've used on 4 or 5 other projects at the boat, around the house or for the cars. Crazy? Yeah...but I liked the challenge, and now when something needs to be done (replacing zipper and such) I can do it. Not for the faint of heart, but doable.
