Has anyone changed to a 4 blade prop and noticed a measurable difference? Initially it would seem that due to the induced air cushion, all props under a fastrac design would be prone to ventilation and losing efficiency, top end, etc. I know firstly the motor height must be correct but you're not going to drop the motor down below ALL of the bubbles right? All the pictures and video online only show a single step affect where now many more hulls are double stepped.
A 4 blade naturally would be the more suitable prop for these hulls but I don't believe any Regals come with them....

I have been wondering the same thing and was going to order one of the aluminum Volvo Penta 4 blades to try out since they are pretty cheap. I have been told I need to go size down in pitch when going from a 3 blade to a 4 blade. Does that sound right?

Normally yes but a lot factors into it. Figure out your wide open throttle rpm, speed, typical boat weight, prop pitch and diameter then contact Ken at kr@propgods.com . He's the Florida guru. He'll ship you props to try out for cheap before you make you final selection.
Let us know how it turns out!

I would hope that when Regal built/sold the boat you have they would have gone thru all the scenarios regarding standard factory props, but you can never tell. Sounds like good advice from Leeward, seems like you dont have anything to loose (other than what do you do with the props that you paid for when you purchased the boat?) Maybe kr@propgods would give you a "trade in" value for your current props if you purchase theirs?

It seems from a bit of research I have done and talking to my dealer that 4 blades tend to provide more stern lift. Stern lift combined with the fastrac hull will likely result in greater cavitation. Anyone think there might be truth to this?

Talk to kr@propgods and see what they advise?

I had a 2012 2100 with a v6 that needed a little bit of help pulling folks out of the water. I initially tried going from a 3 blade to 4. I did not see much difference. I went from the 4 to a High Five. THAT is when I noticed a difference. The boat felt like it had a little bit more stump pulling power. I think I lost maybe 5-7 mph but that didnt matter much to me. I hardly go over 35mph.

Has anyone considered purchasing a Sharrow prop? This is an exciting advancement. If I was not on a dual prop set up...

I thought so too until I saw the price. Many thousands! I'll pass.

I would imagine the price is an issue for 95% or boaters. As much as I was looking forward to the sharrow prop it won’t be a game changer until the figure out how to construct it for a reasonable price.

For $9k / prop might have been a good idea to just upgrade to the the next higher HP engine(s) when buying new or used? Ya, hindsight is 20/20. Would go with suggestion to contact kr@propgods and see what they advise.Sounds like they will propose a prop, let you try it to see if performance improves, and if not ?
