It certainly will change ours, curious if anyone is either canceling or changing their summer boating plans.
As a side note, please be safe and I Wish you all and your families a healthy spring/summer season.

Change your plans how? I thought about the kind of boating we do either hanging out on the hook or traveling and either way to are not with large groups of people. As a matter of fact I think boating will be safer than other sorts of activities.

Yes. We plan to boat more than usual. Gas will supposedly be lower through the summer and we will take advantage of it.

Agree, out on the water you should be much safer than at the March Madness (Final 4 cancelled here in the ATL) ,NBA playoffs, St. patrick's Day celebrations, etc., .Only contact I have with folks is at the dock but sometimes that turns out to be all day thing! Unfortunately I am in one of the groups being over 60 and having some pre existing conditions. Well, sooner or later we all pay taxes (maybe Trump will delay that?) and pass on for some reason or another.. It is a shame the the POTUS is broad brushing this vs. Chief Medical Officer at NIH is actually reporting the real scientific facts! My thoughts are that we should all go on with normal activities and hopefully this will pass.

we plan on doing more boating and staying local. I rent a house on the lake all winter and we usually check out in June, trying to see if we can hyphenate there all summer.

Today I saw one of the best articles sent to me by a friend who is a lung specialist, this was sent internally to Doctors in his hospital. -If your nose is running, you dont have the virus. -a cough projectile can be as much as 10 feet and can linger for up to 90 seconds. -virus lives longer on metal and mirrors but on regular objects, its should be dead after 12 hours.
Interesting stuff...

Getting lost on the Chesapeake at anchor and not talk to anyone! Nah, We won't be changing our summer plans too much.

On a more serious note, this does look like it's going to peak sometime in May/June, so it does look like boating as far as group get togethers will surely be impacted. I think our summer plans at the Jersey shore will need to be altered a bit, but not substantially. The spring plans for me on the Chesapeake normally are only with our closest friends who are all in Quarantine now. My hope is we will be able to get together for some sandbar hangs with social distancing in force but to be honest I don't really know. We'll have to see. I will be isolating myself some weekends on my boat with my immediate family instead of just hanging in our house. I'm already getting stir crazy just sitting around here for the last two weeks.
My turn over on the new 33 is supposed to be next Friday. Just me and the principle at the dealership. Then I plan on running the new boat up to our marina on the sassafras river with maybe my son and one of my close friends. Marina facilities are effectively closed, so the biggest issue I think we will face is getting fuel until that all opens again.

Let’s hope it’s our choice!
My marina has closed with the “hopes” of reopening in a couple weeks.
One thing I can tell you FOR SURE... if I have to be quarantined, it should be on my BOAT!!!

Hopefully, we will be boating more. Daughter plays travel softball which has been canceled for the foreseeable future. Generally, we have to limit our boating due to tournaments. Since tournament this weekend is canceled, we are heading to the lake. If nothing more than to get out and ride on the water.

We would love to do the same. My turnover for my new 2020 33 OBX was scheduled for Friday, but now with the new lockdown orders in Maryland it looks like my boat won't be turned over until sometime later this spring hopefully. I was not looking to break rules with a bunch of people on the boat, I was simply looking to get it turned over and for me and my son (who lives here with me every day) to take it to the marina I already paid for on the sassafras. However, that isn't looking possible right now and to be honest I understand the need for this lockdown, but clearly I'm disappointed. Stay safe everyone.

TC, Understand! If you are paying for the slip assume if you took possession of the new 33 OBX why you couldn't just motor over to slip and dock it? Another assumption = your new boat is on the dry and therefore nothing to worry about until finally launched? Good luck and all stay safe!

Well the new boat is at a different marina than where my slip is on the Chesapeake. I talked to the guy who owns the company who sold me the boat. He's going to cover anything that the Marina charges for storage and yes the boat is on the hard right now. So I only have to pay for my slip at the marina on the Sassafras which is good. Not a big deal. Yes Governor Hogan of Maryland has made recreational boating against the law during the stay at home order for those of you in Maryland. Kind of stinks to me since I think me taking my boat out on the Chesapeake by myself is the ultimate at Social distancing. Go figure.
