Ok so I confirmed with a multimeter that the sunroof switch is faulty (opens roof but does not close roof). The part is a Carlington Tech VL41 1233R. This part seems custom to Regal for the labeling. Does anyone know the generic ordering number or perhaps have the wiring diagram? I called Regal service sites and was told they only replace the entire panel. Google Carlington and call or e mail them with the p/n you indicated (where did you find the p/n you indicated in your post?). They should be able to help or send you to a distributor for more info. I cant believe that Regal has a special switch made just for them for your boat! As you have it out just take it to a local marine or marine electronics dealer and they should help!
Thats crazy that Regal only sells the whole switch panel, gosh!!

Here is one on Amazon for $10 that looks like it would work? DPDT center off = CARLING TECHNOLOGIES VLD2S00B-AZC00-000 SWITCH, ROCKER, DPDT, 20A, BLACK (1 piece)

Just buy the same switch and replace the actuator (the piece that has the custom labeling).
May be Regal has recommended a new panel because the newer models have a different label style. (Anyway that idea is was too radical).
I did that in order to replace a momentary un used switch on my SC35 side panel for a permanent on/off switch in order to keep the same labeling.

It seems like you are indicating you can pop off the plastic rocker lever from a new switch and put the old lever with the correct lables onto the new switch? I have done that before but hope the OP doesnt brek either of the rocker levers getting then on and off! It it were me, I would just put the new switch in as is and remember that one way opens the roof and the other way closes it?

Hey all thanks for the feedback. I was able to get a replacement switch by getting to the "right" Regal technician. I also got word back from Carlington on the generic version of the part: "The part number for the switch without the rocker would be VL41S00B-00000-000. The closest we make for the rocker would be part number VVG8CAU-1XX-XSR2. it has "sunroof" and up and down arrows on it. Looks like Carling did not imprint the rockers you have. Another option for the rocker would be to buy the blank one, part number VVGZC00-000 and see if you can get someone like www.otrattw.net or www.newwiremarine.com to mark it for you." |
