So I was having a cover made for my 2015 30 express and while it was being fitted for the cover it rained for 3 days, when I got the boat back today I notices that three gauges had a lot of condensation or moisture on the lenses inside, fogging and large droplets. How do I clear the gauges, never had this issue before but i have only owned the boat for a year and always had the original canvas on boat protecting from rain. Thanks

I usually turn on the back lighting for the gauges, the heat from that will deal with the moisture. There is not much else you can do. I made it practice that I turn the lights on in the morning for about 30 minutes if we are out on the boat and that did the trick.

Yes admin, great idea! As most gauges (other than aircraft (seems like you have experience in those), submarines etc.)are not hermetically sealed when they are warm and low humidity (being in the direct sun) , then cool off the vacuum created inside the gauge will pull in water vapor, then fog up the lenses when cooling down again. interesting how the SR-71 did at 100k+ feet altitude, -60/70 F? probably didnt have Faria gauges

You guys will laugh but one summer I decided to outsmart faria and pulled the gauges and put awesome Led lights...gauges fogged up, I turned the lights on but the led doesn’t generate enough heat...I laughed at myself. Usually sitting under cover makes the gauges be worst. I am not advocating you do this but I drill 3/32 hole in the back, problem solved...I did this on both 1900s I had with success.

Good idea. Even though our vessel is going on 20 years old dont have problem with gauges fogging up, just not displaying anywhere near accurate reading! Would rather have slightly fogged up gauges than ones 10/20% off of actual! Worst is the tachometers! Wonder how you landing or taking off in a aircraft with wind (air) speed indicators being 10/20% off would work
