Here in WI, our local public ramps have been closed by the local municipalities. They are closing state and local parks and other public venues right and left. Our marina is private and has a private ramp, so we are exempt. However, just to be safe, I had my marina splash my boat last week in case they close the lake. We should be able to at least sit on the boat as our slip is private.

It has been a nice escape. I hope everyone that hasn't been able to get to the water will soon (as long as you can stay safe.)

Interesting, GA, MD, and Fl boaters all indicated in water (well, OK, 5 votes) !Assume all the southern states and coastal waters all are wet? Still wondering why we don't have any west coast (CA) or TX members on the ROF but assume they are wet all year long also?

I usually don't splash until mid May, but as started above, I went early this year. My boat has been floating for a week or two now, and the weather has been mostly crap. Temps at night last week dropped as low as 21F for several nights in a row, and we have had a lot of wind. Here is a photo of our local lake taken just the other day:

Not in your salutation but see your in SE WI (Like MKE/Racine/Kenosha?). Possible you de winterized a little too soon but see you have shore power so use HVAC in heat mode to keep fresh, grey, and black water systems/tanks/lines from freezing! I am from MKE, moved to GA in 1986. Been there with 6 smaller boats then the 4160 we have now. While in WI, winterizing, pulling to dry dock, de winterizing in spring, and enjoying the 4 months of boating season ! Stay safe!

I did splash too soon (wanted to get in before the closed the launch ramps). As soon as I saw the forecast for 21F temps at night, I drained the raw water from the cooling system. Luckily, I have the VP easy drain system and fresh water cooling, so this was super easy. We had not summarized the water system yet, so we had no worries there. We did hit a low of 21F for around 4 consecutive nights. Had the boat out last weekend, no issues. BTW - We are on Geneva Lake.

I've been in the water for pretty much 3 weekends. The first weekend was pretty much just the ride from where I purchased the boat to my regular marina on the Chesapeake's Sassafras River. The weekend after that I got a fishing trip in on Saturday with my oldest son and his daughter, my granddaughter. This past weekend I did my first overnight on the hook, Friday Night at Sill Pond on the Chesapeake to allow for some late night and early morning fishing. Saturday, my wife came to the boat and we got a little more fishing in, along with having lunch at Ordinary Point.
So while it's not really "normal" boating, it's better than doing nothing. I don't normally fish, but it's necessary if you want to keep using your boat. I also like the idea of getting some fresh catfish or bass that are worth keeping which makes it totally "legal" as they say. While my plan Friday night was to catch something I would have grilled up on my grill for dinner, I didn't quite get that done, ended up grilling hot dogs.
Saturday, while I was out with my wife, I saw plenty of boats going too and fro with no fishing rods in sight. So I think everyone is just getting a little too cooped up and are pushing the rules.
