Hello is anyone using their regal in salt water and if so how are they holding up. I’m thinking of getting a regal 25 foot model with an outboard . primarily use is freshwater but on occasion I would like to take it off shore for a little fishing and adventure providing the water is calm just looking for a little feedback

I'm sure there are folks who are doing this. My 4460 while in fresh water most of the time, spent about 30% of the time I had it (7 years) in mostly salt water. It wasn't the ocean, but it was the Chesapeake Bay south of the Bay Bridge and Annapolis. It also spent some time in Florida and the Bahamas during the previous owners time with it. I'd say the engines and boat held up well. My 4460 was an IPS 500 boat with Volvo Diesel D6 6 cylinders engines.
I now have a 2020 33 OBX with Twin Yamaha 300s, I plan to use that down the shore about 50% of the time, hence the outboards. With the Outboards you won't have any issue going in Salt Water. Just flush them out after use in Sale Water. 15 minutes or so per engine and you'll be fine. The Fiberglass won't care where you are running it and if you are trailering it you won't be painting the bottom so no need to figure out what type of Bottom Paint to use.

Right now I’m looking at the LX4 or maybe 6, but really like the rod holders that you can get on the OBX. I just prefer the LX hull over the OBX for ride. I hope to hear from some who has done the trip to Bimini in a regal.

Can you not mount rod holders on the LX4/6? Yes, agree that the outboards are less susceptible to salt water especially if you flush out the sea water from engines if dry docked or back into fresh water at home port. Also believe the outboards can be fully trimmed up so lower unit is fully out of water (trailering position) What is LX4/6?A new regal model?
