Trying to figure out how to access the underside of the hardtop. Attached pic. How do you remove the vinyl panels? I contacted regal with no response. Trying to install a flush mount radar to the hardtop and need to screw the two inch bolts from the underside. any help would be appreciated.

Send a nice e mail to Regal customer service and INDICATE YOUR HULL NUMBER. With that they actually know you own a Regal. Good luck, let us know if and when you get a answer!

Included the hull ID and was begging practically in a very nice note. No response. Any other options to contact regal?

I believe it is the same ceiling system used in the cabin. Here is a video on how to remove and reinstall it

Looks different from ours but possibly attached same way. Should be screws embedded in the seams of the vinyl. Dig around for them, unscrew and it should come right down.

Messed around with it this evening some more. 1) I removed the round access panels marked in red. Nope. 2) the trim panels, marked in blue are pressed in with automotive style plastic snapping screw. If I pull down on them, it risks ruining the snapping screw attachment. 3) the middle section of the vinyl panel appears to be hollow. The two sections move independently, marked in green. Sent another email to regal to see if I could get instructions. The video above helps but I don’t believe it’s attached the same way as the cabin liner since all the panels appear to be mounted using those snapping one-way ribbed screws. We shall see how it goes. Need to figure this part out as the radar will be mounted flush to the hardtop with a wedge.

Hopefully you will hear from them before this weekend but you can imagine they are pretty busy and somewhat understaffed? My response time from direct e mail to customer service has been 2 to 3 business days, not too bad in my mind.

I have a call into Regal with their Customer Service Director. I got the name from my dealer AM/PM. I’m looking for similar information. Need to get access to the hardtop above these panels to run wiring for some additional downlights I’m adding. If I hear back here I’ll share. Did you pull down to get pictures of the breakaway Automotive panel fasteners? Clearly, I’d like to order some replacements before yanking the panels down. Our outside panels are blue, Inside white, but otherwise the layout is the same.

Our outside panels are blue, Inside white, but otherwise the layout is the same. Those fasteners are called Christmas tree fasteners. They can be bought at Home Depot or Lowe’s. I haven’t pulled them down yet as I don’t want to mess anything up without confirmation of the inner panels also. 😉 Will be using my mini-crowbar to gently remove the outer panels. Regal responded and said they can be pulled down as suspected but some could break along the way. No info on inner panels so I asked again. Tackling the radar install next week and will post pics of the panel removal and any parts I break along the way.......once I get confirmation on inner panel removal procedure.

Providing an update and steps with pics for anyone needing to access the underside of the regal hardtop. 1) first, you need a Christmas tree fastener removal tool or mini-crowbar to remove the outer panels gently. All four out panels pop out. 2)the inner panels are held by screws. The screws are hidden behind the LED light bar track. Remove the led light bar (start from the back wiring and simply pull down). Once the light bar is off, the screws for the inner panels will be exposed. Remove the front inner panel first as it’s hiding the rear inner panel forward screws. 3) removed the all the screws for the inner panel then remove the round access hatch in the rear to route cables as needed. The exposed fiberglass in the underside of the hardtop is thin and cored. So use big (1” minimum) washers if you mount anything on the hardtop. Mounted the radar and routed the cables down to the access panel. Tomorrow is chasing the cables down to the chartplotter.

thanks so much for posting the pics. I had my second warrantee service today and talked to the Regal Tech at my dealership on how the hardtop trim comes down. He gave me a bunch of extra Christmas tree fasteners just in case they break. I then came home to see these pics. Seeing the pics really helps me understand what needs to be done after talking to him. Thanks for sharing. Looks like I have some work cut out for me this weekend.

My son helped as once you remove the inner panel screws, it will come down hard. Not heavy, just awkward size and flimsy. When you route cables, route them to your starboard side. There is another access panel that you will use to start fishing cables down the hardtop to behind the fridge area. Remove the rear cockpit starboard speaker and you’ll see the existing wire harness from the hardtop. Chase your cables using a “fish tape”.

Thanks Omarf4! One quick question though. How are the rope lights held up there? when you pull the outside frame down, do they simply come with it?

Thanks Omarf4! One quick question though. How are the rope lights held up there? when you pull the outside frame down, do they simply come with it? They are simply in a track. No screws or anything on the lights. The track is mounted to the frame of the hardtop. But the light rope simply squeezes into the track. It’s rubber and very flexibility.
