Do you mean the ceiling vent in the bathroom (head)to pull humidity/smelly air out of it? Or, a vent for the black water holding tank as a thru hull outside of the boat? Our fwd head doesn't have a ceiling ventilator fan inlet as it has a port hole. Our aft head has a powered suction blower with inlet connected about half way up from floor, it looks exactly like a small 3" AC discharge grill including the pivoting vanes in it. We have one light/blower switch in the aft head. If DC breaker in the main distribution panel is turned on , the blower will start with the light switch. I DC breaker is OFF only ceiling light will turn on.

not sure of the cabin layout differences, but on my 2005 3560, its accessed via the rear cabin. In the access door where the hot water heater is. Mounted on the hull above water heater.

On my 2006 3860, it is in the aft cabin located in the access hatch where the A/C unit is located. That hatch is on the Starboard side above the fwd bunk.
When you open the door, it's right in front of you.
Sounds like it's in different spots on different years for the 3860, which is very odd.

My 4460's vent was in the hatch at the head of the twin beds in the aft cabin next to the rear air conditioner. Not sure that helps you though. You have to have one of these somewhere, I would start either from the dark water tank or the thru hull vent, if you know which one is the dark water vent and trace the lines to find the filter.

To locate black water tank vent use the toilet while someone is standing outside the boat (if at dock), if tank full they should hear/smell it? Hard to understand you cant find black water tank or vent? Do you have a level gauge for it? We do, but it is not very accurate so when we smell effluent at the dock that is when time to have tank pumped out. Also, our vessel didnt have a activated charcoal filter in the vent line , I put one in.
