They actually replaced all of the plugs while they were at it. Not sure if there is going to be a charge since it was that way since we bought it (used). Who knows, a bill might show up in the mail. I'll keep you posted. It would be a credit to the dealership (who we bought it from) if they don't charge to make the boat right when new to us.

I am not sure what the secret is but the Gen 5 engine does not like to idle for very long. Of the several occurrences I had with plug fouling, it always started after long idles, 20 plus minutes.

Interesting that you mention that. The mechanic did in fact advise us to not let the engine idle for long.

The plugs when we pulled them were heavily covered with Carbon.
