As many of you know, I am boatless this summer for the first time in 20 plus years. I am borrowing a friends boat and keeping it on lake George in a boat house. Before I launched the boat almost 2 months ago, I asked a friend to detail the boat, he has an airplane cleaning business. Well after two months, there is zero staining, not even a hint of discoloration from being in the water.
So I called him to find out what he used and he told me it’s baked on Teflon, same process he uses on airplanes.
Could that be? Or just pure luck?
I am not complaining, just happy with the results and curious if anyone else has tried something similar.

My friend and had boats in a fresh water lake near my home. Mine was in a slip at a marina and his in is boat house. No question his hull stayed 100% cleaner than mine in terms of hull growth and discoloration. The difference was his was completely out of the sun while in his boat house with the garage door shut.

Our boat house is a complete enclosure and zero sun, I am sure that adds to the benefit.

Oddly enough... my parents have a boat on the Chesapeake. Every year before he splashes he puts 2 coats of Mop - n - Glow! Any staining he gets is wiped off with a soft bristle brush! He absolutely swears by it!!!
