Seeing some odd behavior with my 4460 (just acquired last winter). Is fuel capacity 352 gal? Survey says so. If so, equal size tanks, port and sbrd at 176 gal?
Just ran her low on fuel and the Volvo system and analog guages showed the sbrd tank at 16% fuel capacity but port showed 48%. Could they really be that far off? I guess, contrary to what i thought before, the generator must be pulling from sbrd tank? I haven't even run that and the boat was filled up completely in December showing 100% full on each side. So I'm trying to decide if the port side sensor may be flaky.
But, the mystery thickens...the Volvo display shows "137gal" after i just filled the tanks (and each side again shows 100%). So this makes me question the overall capacity. Note: i didn't top off the tanks so i am probably not at 100% in reality.
So, actual fuel capacity is in question. And why would the boat be drawing more out of the sbrd fuel tank than port tank, given that i didn't run the generator (unless...thinking...the marine mechanics ran it when the boat was serviced in April...THAT MUST BE IT!?)

Ok, maybe i just solved this...i found in the Regal paperwork that the fuel capacity is 328gal, which makes my calculations make a lot more sense. Now, if the yard ran approx 53 gal of fuel to the generator, everything would align but i have a hard time believing they ran it that much.

My 2006 4460 had two tanks and they were not the same size. I believe the port tank was around 176 gallons and the starboard 152, for a total of your 328. I also believe that the gene operated out of the port tank primarily. My gauges seemed to be mostly on target but what I saw was that the smaller starboard tank would drop much faster when below half a tank. Therefore, I built a habit of filling both tanks to about 95% when ever the starboard tank dipped below 50%.
I should note that my 4460 was an IPS 500 boat, but I don't really think that changes the tank size.

same for mine (IPS600) and those tank capacities make a whole lot more sense to what i was seeing. I sincerely believe that solves all of these riddles now!! Thank you!!

Now, if the yard ran approx 53 gal of fuel to the generator, everything would align but i have a hard time believing they ran it that much. Our 4160 has two 155 gallon tanks, one on port of engine room area and other on stbd. Dont believe yard used that much fuel running your gen set? If at dock assume u have shore power and if not, yard pulled vessel of of water but then cant run water cooled gen set? Surprisingly our Faria fuel gages are still somewhat accurate. Two weeks a go son had boat out and one engine stopped, ran out of fuel. That gauge indicated 1/4 full? Solution= Never let fuel tanks get below 1/4 full, including the water that may condense and sink to bottom of tank, and let water into fuel system. PS: We have a 3 way valve that lets us switch the gen set fuel source from either one of main engine fuel tanks, yours?
