As we start to see the days turning shorter I am starting to think about winterizing. I have a 2007 closed cooling system Merc 6.2. Generator. A/C, etc.
With the closed cooling system having antifreeze, I think it is good.
What else needs to be winterized?

If you are wet docked in TX most likely dont need winterizing? We dont here in GA, lake never freezes and have a automatic electric engine room heater even though probably never needed? Would be nice to know what model/ size boat you have and location in TX! Wet docked year round, trailered, or pulled out for winter?

It is a 2007 2665. 6.2 Merc. Im in North Texas, DFW area. It is wet docked on a hydrohoist.
Re: Year Round, that is what we are trying to figure out. I have a trailer and currently plan to yank it out of the water about October but nothing definite. THere are definitely days here through the winter where a spin on the lake in December of Jan is easily doable.
Thanks

billtexas, I'm with go fast you'll probably be fine down there in the great state of Texas, but if you want to be safe, you'll just need to make sure the antifreeze in the cooling system is up to spec for the winter. It can be tested to validate that, and you'll need to drain the raw water system and heat exchanger. I'm not sure how that is done on your motor setup, but it should be pretty straight forward. the other option would be to run Freezeban into your raw water side of your cooling system. That also shouldn't be difficult.
Note if you do the engines I would suggest you winterize your fresh water setup, and air conditioner and generator (if you have them).

Yes regarding the raw water system, AC condenser system, and fresh water circuits. Thinking if yu just left vessel in lake you wouldn't need any of this winterizing stuff? If staying in water maybe have a engine room heater while connected to shore power, if you have shore power?
