Hello all, I’m a brand-new forum member! I am writing because, as a new owner, I have a few kinks to work out. First: my 2006 Regal 4060 has a power-operated helm seat which has not worked since I acquired the boat. Has anybody ever tackled that problem?Any suggestions out there?

I haven't had a problem with mine on 4460, but I'd first look for a fuse somewhere between the helm switch and motor unit or motor unit and connection to house power. IIRC, on my 4460, the motor is in the storage compartment under the helm. When you press the helm switch, do you hear the motor trying to run? If so, then i would look at a mechanical issue in the motor or on the seat track.

Scott,
A couple of questions on why it doesn't work (similar to SeaSun's post). Does the motor make a sound at all? If not, it could be the fuse, or perhaps even the motor wires being disconnected. The wire route from under the seat on my former boat a 4460, your routing could be similar. it's all in the storage compartment under the seat. This second questions is specific to an issue that actually happened to me, in my case the motor would run like it was moving the seat but the seat would not move. When I investigated it I found that the mechanism to move the seat has come lose from the motor. I remember that I had to find the bolt or nut and reattach it, but I don't really remember the specifics since it was over 5 years ago. I no longer own the boat. But I found it by looking beneath the seat at the mechanism and saw the motor running without connection to the seat itself. You might want to look at either of those things.

To Seasun and tc33,
It makes no noise ... no indication that the motor is getting current. I will check those things you both pointed out. Thanks!

TC33, good points! Since owing our 4160 have never moved the eat so dont know of any problems. Ours is positioned all the way back and stayed there since 2014. Whishing it would go back another few inches but just leave it all the way back.
