I bought new struts for my engine compartment but now the compartment does not close all the way unless you sit on it. It stays open about an inch or so. It does latch.
Did I buy the wrong struts? I bought Attwood SL 28 100#.
Any ideas?

I have no idea regarding your boat, but you must know the full open AND full close sizes before buying a replacement shock.

Remove the old one and measure both.

I bought the boat used and the originals were gone. The previous owner left two shocks of which I presumed were bad, and so I reordered the same. He had not been using them, possibly for the same reason. Its way to heavy to lift every time you want to turn the batteries on and off.
I called and left a message at Attwood, the manufacture.

Call Regal; ask for parts info. Have your hull # handy. They, most certainly, can provide the exact Mfgr. & part #. From there, Google the # and it'll pop up as to who has it and price.
