Have 2005 Regal 3560 Exp cruiser. During last outing at Solomons Is, Md, the main double sliding door that leads below became harder and harder to open or close, finally jamming about halfway open. It is easily getting crooked in the tracks and straightening it out just leads to more jamming with any attempt to further open or close. Does anyone know how to get the door out to figure out what has broken? Right next to it is the cabinetry holding the refrigerator with no opening to reach the inside of the door. When I try to look down either side of the door, I don’t see anything touching the door or it’s track so I’m thinking that whatever it rolls on is somehow broken causing the jam. Any ideas on how to access this space? Thx

I have that same door and something similar happened to me. I took my garden hose with a strong nozzle and sprayed the track to get the debris out....what came out was a female part of a little sex bolt that holds the door sliding truck. That freed the jamb and the door slides. I then used a spray lube to keep the trucks rolling free and sliding on the track....so far it still works but I fear the worse is yet to come. I think a call into Regal would be the best bet for the remedy on how to remove the door.....it will be major!

I have a single sliding door, as it got old like me just used a heavy duty shop vac to clean out all tracks, then lubed with "Super Lube". Now door can be opened/closed with one finger. Yes, removing the doors can be a PITA!

The ultimate solution is to replace the door trucks. The problem is that to remove the door to replace all the trucks, especially the ones at the top, you have to remove the brown port side dashboard. To remove the port side dashboard, you have to remove the port side windshield. I have replaced my lower trucks, and cleaned my tracks. which helps a lot, but it doesn't solve the issue. Keeping the tracks clean and learning where to hold the door when rolling it helps a lot, but doesn't solve the issue. I haven't replaced the top trucks yet as removing the windshield requires drilling out and replacing stainless rivets and I need some help to remove and replace the heavy windshield and dashboard. I don't want to try this when the boat is in the water in fear of dropping the windshield overboard! Here is where you can purchase the door trucks, as well as new tracks. I would suggest installing new tracks at the same time, as this job is much more labor intensive, so why not do it right the first time. trucks: www.boatoutfitters.com/hardware/sliding-door-hardware/sliding-door-truckstracks: www.boatoutfitters.com/hardware/sliding-door-hardware/sliding-door-track

Thanks!
I'll try to get here more. I'm not sure why, but seeing it's not as active as the old forum, I haven't visited as much.
Another issue I have it locating stainless pop rivets that also have a stainless mandrel. Some suppliers don't list the mandrel materiel on the pop rivets, and I'd hate to do the job and end up having rust dripping over time.
If anyone does this job, please let us know how it goes.

Hey guys, I replaced both the upper and lower trucks a couple years ago on my 3560. What I did was to drill a 1" hole in the dash above the upper track. That gave me the access to the screws that needed to be removed. It was a huge pain in the *@@, but it worked. I went this route as I absolutely did not want to have to remove the windshield and that huge dash section. When I was done, I just popped in a 1" rubber grommet in the hole to seal it.

I just happen to be at the boat today. Here you go. The hole I drilled was much smaller, but a bigger hole would make it easier (sound weird to say ).

Thanks for sharing these pictures!
It doesn't look as bad as it initially sounded, especially considering it's just behind the bracket, and the smaller hole may be harder to access the screws, but it doesn't look as bad as the larger hatch would.
I may consider doing it this way this myself, plus sealing the edges of the wood in the drilled holes with some epoxy, as this way it would be much less work, and also allow for future repairs without removing of the windshield and dash again. The trucks can break if someone happens to step on the door when it's closed as they head up to the bow while the boat is rocking.
Obviously you must have been able to access all the mounting screws for the trucks on both doors?

ImRich, also nice to see you back! I do remember your participation on the old forum!Nice to see you helping us out on the new forum! Thanks! It's nice to have a forum again. Too bad we couldn't get a backup of the original forum from a family member, there was a lot of good information there that was lost. I was considering to volunteer to help as a moderator here, but it seems the current team has things under control. Thanks for this!

Obviously you must have been able to access all the mounting screws for the trucks on both doors? I was, but it was not easy. You only have a few inches of vertical clearance to the windshield, so you'll need some right angle screwdrivers/ratchets and such. If I recall, getting it all out wasn't too bad, but getting the screws back in the top trucks was a pain. But given the alternative, all in all ok.
