How’s it going? The news says boat rentals are booming.

Not me. Too easy for bad things to happen.

Pride of ownership and the sweat equity I put in to keep things in top shape will keep me from renting. I do loan the boat on occasion but only to people as particular as me about boats.

Not me. Too easy for bad things to happen. Same here! Even when son captaining the boat his friends always end up breaking something or putting a ton of TP down the Vacu flush toilets and plugging them up!

I let my sons use my 22 Bryant on their own, even though I've put about 15k into that boat over the last 5 years renovating it. It was my dad's boat and that is what he would have wanted. Hand it down and get the next generation into boating. However, my 4460 was never run without me on her playing Admiral if I wasn't the captain. Same for my 33 OBX so far. In another 3 or 4 years I'll probably let my most experienced boys, oldest, and two youngest to take it out on their own, but only after many trips on their own in the 22 Bryant without incident. And I will never let someone I don't know take her out.

I would never, ever, rent or loan my boat to anyone. I'm too anal about how it's used and maintained. :-)

Doesnt look like the admin has a Regal anymore? Might be wrong though? Really doesnt matter, he volunteered to re host this forum and as far as I know he is covering all the costs of it? To me, doesnt really matter what boat you own, just enjoy the questions that pertain to all types of vessels regardless of mfg.
