I own a 2014 Regal express 30 and I am looking to replace the batteries. There are two batteries starboard in the engine room. They are connected in parallel, 800 CCA ,and seem to be the starting batteries. There is a third battery that is in the center of the engine room, next to the firewall. I believe this to be the house battery but I am not certain. Can someone please confirm?
I intend to replace the two starting batteries with two 850 CCA Odyssey extreme batteries and the house battery with an Odyssey deep cycle PC1800-FT, which has 214 amp hours. If anyone has a recommendation, please advise.
Thank you, Mickey

Mickey, welcome to regal Owner Forum! So, single gas engine or twins? If single engine most likely the single battery is for starting the one engine, th two in parallel is for house battery loads? Or vice versa if twin engines. Normally is singe engine the two batteries in paralel will not be starting battries, and again vicea versa. Find the BCI size numbers and replace with anything the same or larger CCA (physical size and rating) , and for house battery (s) go with deep cycle (recommend AGM batteries in any case! Let us know what you find! Kindly provide more info on your location, wet or dry docked, engine hours, type of drives, etc.

Hi gofast24,
Thank you for your reply.
Some info on myself... Twin IO Volvo Penta V6 4.3L 225HP (Gen V) gasoline engines, with DP drives. 260 hours. Kohler generator. 260 hours. Boat is kept indoor dry rack. I am located in Melbourne, Florida.
I will assume the dual batteries in parallel are for starting and the center is the house. After carefully researching AGM type batteries, it seems Odyssey and Northstar are head and shoulders above everything else.
I am considering two Odyssey 34M-PC1500ST-M (880 CCA, 68 AH) as the starting batteries. Also considering the Odyssey 31M-PC2150ST-M, but maybe overkill. Odyssey PC1800-FT (214 AH) as the house. I would like the house battery to maintain (without dropping below 50% charge) the fridges for 12 hours.
I am also planning on installing a battery monitor/alarm. Any recommendations?

Still think with two propulsion engine the batteries you indicate are in parallel is very unusual, usually one battery per engine? What I did was Install a Blue Seas OLED precision voltmeter at the helm which indicates the "single house battery" voltage. When house battery gets below 12.4 VDC (50% charge state) time to either start gen set, turn off (or way down) audio system, or in our case the propulsion engines battery charging alternators will charge/ power the DC loads from the group 8 D AGM house battery while engines running (dont really recommend running the propulsion engines to chare house battery!).
