Hello all, Just purchased a 2018 33 XO. After only about a month, I'm noticing some things that we intend on 'improving', and thought it might be useful to share with this group. Also, think it would be great for others to post their experiences and tips, tricks, etc. Windlass: - We noticed that at times (more often that I would like) the center star nut loosens when retrieving the anchor. We were advised to try using the 'blue' loctite. Not as permanent as the red, but should help hold.
- We also decided to have a mount installed for the windlass wrench. Much more convenient having it right there in the anchor locker when needed.
Paint flaking in engine compartment and under sun lounger seat: - Since this area is 'unfinished', we are having it sanded down and repainted. Not sure if others are seeing this too?
2-way radios/walkie talkies: - We have had these small walkie talkies forever. Never had a use for them. But they are great on the boat - specifically when there are people down below deck and you need to communicate. We have kids, so it's much easier to warn them of an on-coming wake or that we are speeding up, etc. via the radio than opening and closing the door each time.
Storage under helm seat: - Haven't done this yet, but considering installing a lock box under the helm seat. There's a drain there too, so would need to be elevated off the deck. For now, I just have a removeable storage box there for sunglasses, keys, wallet, etc.
That's all for now. Looking forward to seeing what others have done!

Welcome to the ROF. Nice vessel! Not sure about the walkie talkies, just turn down stereo and yell down hatch/cabin door? How old are the kids? Blue loctite should be fine, clean off thread and nut with spray cleaner before applying the locktite. Also, find out the torque the nut requires and torque it to that specification, that nut shouldn't be coming loose!

Congrats on the 33XO. I had a 32XO from 2015 to 2018 and loved it. We did many modifications.
THe blue loctite will help a lot. I also upgraded/changed my chain and rope to 30 feet of chain and 200 feet of good quality 8 plait rope. The 8 plait rope made using the windlass 1000 better in terms of not getting stuck/hung up on retrieving the anchor. I also added a automatic anchor turner which flips the anchor to the correct position every time as its entering the locker.
I also added storage under the helm set. I just got two plastic storage bins from home depot that interlocked together (one of top of the other) and fit perfectly under the helm seat. I just used high strength velcro to keep them from sliding around and still allow me to remove them. Worked very well.
You should also join the Regal club 32 facebook group and search for tips and tricks... you will see a bunch of stuff out there. Have fun and good luck!

Care to share what kind and what size you used? I don't know what it is but my anchor always comes up backwards and has to be manually turned. 20+ years of boating, how did I not know about anchor turners? LOL!!
I've done some upgrades to my 2019 33 Express: Added several 12v and USB plugs in the cabin
2 Lithium Iron Phosphate house batteries Templated and installed Seadek for the stern steps and at the helm foot rest Installed a Battery monitor Motion activated lights for the cockpit storage compartments. Comes in very handy at night!!! Installed an LED strip light in the cabin power panel
Inverter fed to the 120V power panel to have 120V power without the generator

Nice upgrades! Have to wonder if this forum will end up on multiple face book forums by boat size, year, propulsion system, etc.? Not sure what admin is paying for this site but seems Facebook is somewhat free (other than the ad's squeezed in between posts? To be honest I did join the Lake Lanier boaters group but a ton of posts/pictures/not too many real questions and with limited info on the OP!

We lost a TON of good information when we had to start over with this forum a year or so ago. That's unfortunate but nothing we can do about it. I am hopeful overtime (many years) we will build up the knowledge base again on ROF. Facebook is okay as well and has its advantages but ROF does as well.

Think it has been more than a year but agree, lost a lot of info and a bunch of knowledgeable members as well! Thinking of "Rich" in TX! Happy Thanksgiving to all and stay safe! Hoping one of these 3 new vaccines gets to me, 72 and a bunch of underlying conditions
