My engine hatch weather stripping is worn out and needs to be replaced. My marina provided me with the following estimate:
The estimate to replace the engine hatch weather stripping, including the side hatch on either side will be $1,000 (8 hours) plus parts. The hardest part of this job is removing the adhesive from all surfaces. Please let us know.
That seems high to me, unless this is a more complicated process than I think. Has anyone done this themselves, and if so what method and products did you use?

On our 4160 really doesnt need the weather stripping, there are drain gutters all around the hatch when sitting into recess in floor. I did remove old weather stripping and put in new self stick stuff but it just squeezes out and doesn't do anything else but make the lip sticky? I would jut remover it or leave what is there there?
