2005 26ft comadore with 350 merc and bravo 3 outdrive 575 hrs
To start I know I have a clone clutch problem, reverse shift ok, forward shift 5 second delay before engaging props.
So getting up on plane starting to feel minor surges but no major over rpm surge. Once up on plane at steady 3500 rpm I am hearing knock comming from engine compartment.
Not hearing any noise at idel or while excelerating.
Could noise be related to clone clutch bad gimbel bering or bad ujoint. Hope it is not engine problems.
I know I need to pull drive for clone clutch replacment so I will start there and hope I find a bad u joint.
Please any Ideas to look for in the process.

Check everything! Knock from engine room might be engine flywheel elastic coupling to I/O splined drive shaft so start there first. Then "U" joints, then gimbal beating ,then etc. Good luck and Merry Christmas!
