We're looking to do something similar to our boat next year and have been exploring options. I don't have a lot of experience but have heard from several people to stay away from the "soft" teak decks due to wearability issues. Would also like to hear feedback from others on the forum. We're looking at Flexiteak and Permateak as a synthetic hard teak floor solution. For a 36' boat doing swim platform, helm/cockpit/salon area, plus bow rider floor it would be on the order of $13,000.

For a 36' boat doing swim platform, helm/cockpit/salon area, plus bow rider floor it would be on the order of $13,000. We love our Seadek. This is my 3rd boat we have had it on. Only done the platform on each boat and everyone who has seen and stepped on it loves it. Had no wear issues in terms of the soft eva. On my Regal 32X after the first season in salt water it started to peel up. This was due to improper prep by the dealer (not Regal factory). I re-ordered the Seadek and re-did the install with no issues for 4 years. On my fresh water boat, the Seadek was going strong after 8 years. We now have one season with the Seadek on our 38XO (I installed myself). They key to no peeling up is to correctly prep the surface. Having said that, the product itself does have a self life of 5 to 8 years more or less depending on the climate and fresh/salt water. Its just peel and stick and costs less than the hard products so if I get 5 years out of it on my 38XO I will be happy. I don't know about the longevity when using it in the cockpit or cabin.

Can these products be applied directly on non skid? I dont like the idea of having to grind the cockpit floor to install it.
I would love to replace the seagrass mat on my sc35 cockpit; after 6 years it is starting to show its age although its a much better option than traditional carpet.!!

Wouldn't like to have non skid ground down but dont know what dealer will recommend? From what I know as of today the material is "closed cell foam, so, assume it shouldn't absorb water?

Keep us up to date if you move forward with Aquamarine Deck. I live near Lake Lanier and will be looking for an option to replace my carpet when it gets to the end of it's life. I would love an option other than carpet.

I would love an option other than carpet. Will do, still in the 'figure out what to get, cost, and who will do it" process! Would prefer to have a qualified /factory authorized dealer do it so no questions if warranty issue due to us improperly preparing or installing it! So, where is "close to Lake Lanier" ?

When I bought my boat it had sea dek installed. The feel was fantastic and it did not get hot to the touch. My issue was the peeling... didn’t make sense to me to keep putting $800-$1100 every 3-5 years to replace it. I had flexiteek 2G installed last season. This product so far has been fantastic! It is not soft like the sea dek and it will get warm, not hot, but it looks fantastic and it is permanent. Super happy with the look, feel, and maintenance of this product!
I have no experience with Aqua Marine Deck.

We live about 6 miles from Mall of Georgia - It is about a 30 minute drive to Holiday Marina.

Thanks, I am 8.8 miles from house to the dock, 14/15 minutes drive from house in Sugar hill, next to North Gwinnett HS. You have a nice boat! Do you trailer it or wet docked/dry stacked at Lazy Days?

We actually do not visit Lake Lanier much any more. We bought a place on Lake Keowee so most of our time is spent there. We currently trailer the boat when we go (about 1.5 hour trip), but I have been looking for a storage facility near our lot to keep it closer

OK, if you have a place on Keowee makes perfect sense! And with a 2400 not a big problem trailering until you get storage/dock on Keowee. Your place on water with dock or permit? As I am only 15 minutes from Holiday and in Gwinnett county, over 65, no school property taxes anymore, cant give that up to move to a different county as well. property tax saving covers about 40% of dock fees

We have a dock on our lot. Plan to build retirement home there in about 5 years and leave Georgia behind.
