Anybody have any issues with the solenoid being stuck in the open position causing an overheat issue? I've been chasing down an exhaust over heat alarm and noticed one of the reservoirs was empty when I got back to the dock, it was filled up prior. Any thoughts? Yes I once had a solenoid valve crack during the winter... our first trip out the engine over heated because it was letting air into the system disrupting the cooling system water...thus over heated the engine....I finally figured it out and put a pair of vise grips on the Neutra-salt System pipe and I was back in business until I got the valve replaced.

Interesting, the neat, easy to use, convenient stuff on newer vessels/engines great, until they fail Then can cost you a engine:) Glad you hopefully found problem! Exhaust or jacket water overheat alarm?

I have a problem my nuetra salt system is not working. I replaced the solenoid checked fuses but it just seems it's not getting power to the solenoid. I should hear it open, I would think. Any suggestions out there..getting frustrated. Boat is 2 years old and not covered by extended warranty.

Also frustrating to have to guess about your vessel and reply with basic questions

I would at least flush the engines; its an easy way to keep the heat exchanger clean. You still have salt water running on the raw water side of the system.

I don’t seem to have any power going to the solenoid. I purchased a new solenoid and checked all fuses I still have nothing. Extended warranty does not cover the system. Any ideas

Before purchasing new solenoid (too late?) , check for 12 VDC voltage at solenoid, switch that activates it, then power to switch, then circuit breaker that feeds it? Let us know what you find!

I have checked the circuit breaker the power switch and the inline fuse on the battery. I don’t have a volt tester. It has to be a wiring issue. Not sure what to do

Thanks, double checked on it and I don't need it on to the next project Why did you decide you do not need it? I just got a 2018 35 SC, it has the neutra-salt switch on the dash but the rest of the system is not there. I guess it just comes prewired for it. To purchase the "kit" is about $400. May need one kit for each engine. I too have the Volvo Penta 300 duoprops FWC. I still think I need to add it.

I'm a Neutra Salt user....I have an 07 3760 kept in salt water and went 12 years on my manifolds and risers. I think it paid for itself...Just sayin. After 12 years View Attachmenta little weeping at the gaskets Did it have just one reservoir serving both engines? And are there 2 solenoids, one for each engine?
