One of my tachometers was replaced years ago (by a prior owner) so it had always shown about 100 hours less than the other.
This always bothered me, so I designed and built this programmable tool to add hours to my tachometer.
I can program it for a specific RPM and to add from 0.1 seconds to 9,999 hours.
This is needed because simply applying power to a tachometer won't allow it to add engine hours. The tachometer must think that the engine is actually running (RPM signal) to have the engine hours increase. Being programable means I can just set it and forget it and let it add hours. Unfortunately the hours have to be added in real time, so if I need to add 102 hours, then this will need to be connected for 102 hours (4.25 days), but being programmable, I can add an exact amount of time easily.
I can confirm the engine hours by reading the engine ECM and then be sure the tachometer's run time hour display is accurate.
