I posted a while back about the SeaDek failing on our 28 Express. We got some very helpful advice and suggestions on what we can do and how to replace it. Thank you for that!
Since posting that first question my wife has seen the flexiteek on several other boats in our marina and she really likes the look of that as well. Can anyone offer any comparisons between the two? Durability and cost are the two major questions followed by functionality and installation.
Thank you

I had it on my last 1900 It is hotter in the summer and you have to wet it down. Once you install it, it is installed with marine grade adhesive and it’s not coming back up
The positive is that it’s very durable and you can even sand it lightly.

The flexiteek is a permanent product. Seadek is a temporary product that will need replacing. The seadek is soft on the feet, flexiteek is hot on the feet. Both are pretty easy to keep clean.
I’ve seen flexiteek that has been installed very well and others that look terrible. Whoever does it needs to know what they are doing.

Hello,
Just getting up to speed with the new forum, so please forgive me if I missed the thread in my search; suspecting that the thread may have begin on the old forum.
So today, while floating around Cayuga Lake, our EVA foam swim pad floated off! It is on our 2015 2300, a three piece set on the swim platform, and the main piece just up and left.
It looks so different that I cannot decide what to do just yet, but at end of season, if I can use mineral spirits and acetone to pull the adhesive off, I may jut leave it bare and live with that. If that doesn’t fly, anyone have knowledge of how to reapply? Something easy to apply that won’t fall off every year, and won’t prevent us from applying new in the future.
Thank you all.
Rob

Flexiteek looks great but is hotter than the surface of the sun during the summer and will burn your feet to a crisp unless continually watered down."

The days are getting a bit warmer, which means boating season in Upstate NY will be here before we know it! And if you think positively I've been told it comes even quicker!!! We decided to go with the Flexiteek. They have a new product called 2g that is suppose to be considerably cooler than the original product. We will post pics and let you know how hot it gets once the boat hits the water! Castaway Marina Lake George March 9, 2020 Might be another week or two before that happens though! Attachments:

we were up at the house last week, ice is pretty much gone about the first 50 feet from the shore. This very same time last year were still taking a walk on the ice to the middle of the lake!

No ice here this winter (nor the last 34 years I have been here)but understand what Ice on lake is (moved from WI 34 years ago) Glad to see more folks posting and hope the forum keeps growing!! Admin= Is there any way we can get new members to indicate the things I have mentioned multiple times when first joining to make it easier to give a learned response?

While I love the way the Seadek feels, longevity is definitely an issue. I can't wait to see the finished product. What color combo are you getting? Never used Flexiteak but I have SeaDeck on the swim platform of my Bryant and we love it. It's held up well over the last 5 or 6 years it's been on there. this is not just through people getting up on that swim platform with skiis and wakeboards, but also with huskies climbing up there. There are a couple light dings in it, I think from the huskies, but overall it looks like the day we put it on there. It's amazing how it comes clean.

I have Castaway doing the install. I asked about color choices but they ONLY do what they can get from the Regal factory. I was hoping to get a Regal symbol but they couldn't do it. As for color it is the teak, pretty sure with black caulking.
Just hoping everyone is cooperating with this social distancing and washing hands... First things first - We got to get the MARINA REOPENED!!!
Stay safe and stay clean!

If you ordered directly from SeaDeck they should be able to do any writing or logo you wanted. Here is a shot of what they did for my Bryant. They matched the Bryant logo exactly. They also have templates for most of the newer boats.

If we ordered our Seadek from Regal we have no options in terms of Color and style. We instead ordered directly from Seadek and we can lock and color style we want. Less expensive as well but have to so the install yourself or have it done.
