Hi,

I was wondering if anyone has installed this kit and uses the app? It works via Bluetooth and an app on your phone / tablet, and also outputs NMEA 2000 so presumably can be linked to a MFD. Seems like an easy solution to get digital gauges. Any thoughts? I used the Mercruiser version on a previous boat and it worked quite well - I finally could get precise data including estimated fuel burn, actual RPM's, and other data, as well it included a maintenance checklist which was useful.

looks great but what model/year/engines do you have? i have 2001 VP 8.1GSiI-a engines , MPI with ECU and OBDM connection at ECU. Wonder if this device would connect in series with the OBDM port?

I did buy and use it with my 1900 but I honestly found it to be limited, it did post some engine parameters but no faults or anything in depth. It was cool but I didn’t get anything more out of it versus what I was seeing with the engine hooked up to my chart plotter.

I checked my serial numbers with the local Volvo penta dealer and it can work, but might be a bit wonky. I have 2007 8.1 GI twins. I would have to buy 2 units as my engine is not EVC, and would also have to read them on separate devices if I use the Bluetooth connection otherwise it provides NMEA 2000 connectors which I can run to a yet to be purchased Chartplotter / MFD. I could also get a 3rd party device to get NMEA data to a MFD but no Bluetooth connection
