I have a 2006 regal 2575 with a Volvo 5.0 engine and out drive. There are two control cables for shift and throttle. How do I remove the shift cable and find a replacement?

At one end there will be a part number printed. Check the cable ends near your engine/transmission, and also near your shift/throttle controls. The part number will include the length needed.
Then order the best quality cables you can find as a replacement.
It's not too hard to run the cables and replace them. Or if needed, run them yourself and have a mechanic do the connection at each end and make adjustments so your idle and shift works properly.
