Hey guy's,
I just picked up a 199 Regal Commodore 2760. She handles well, but has several issues that i need to work on. The one main issue right now is getting thetrim to work so I can get the boat on a trailer and transport it safely. When using the switches on the throttle, the i hear the pumps when moving in one direction, but not in the other. Of course the other direction is bringing the trim up. I had this issue in the past with another boat and it was a relay that I had to replace. Anyone have this issue? where is teh location of teh trim relays? both engines have the same issue.
Thanks,

On my last MERC Outboard/IO boat it was required to push TWO buttons to get from just trim to tilt (trailering position). Assume you have the same requirements so find the second "tilt" button and push both at the same time. Also assuming that a VP I/O has the same safety "two" button situation?

That's what my other boats had also. I just can't seem to find it..... I may be going blind.
I don't think i would need that other switch to just tilt it up a bit.
Thanks,

On mine, the throttle switches move the trim, but only "Trailer" switch, on the dash, will bring ODs totally up.
I'll assume that you've checked the trim fluid level(s) on the rear on the inside transom--with the ODs totally down.

hello, i checked the levels and they are good. When i move both switches in one direction, down, i hear the pump. when i move in the opposite direction, nothing. I checked in the owners manual and looked , but didn't find a trailer switch. Where is yours?
Thanks,

My trailer switch is on the dash.
I DID have to replace one of the small switches on my throttle a few years ago--it died.
I'm thinking your problem, however, lies in the relays.

looks like there is no trailer switch. received this from Regal. There is not a transom tilt switch since this boat is just over the trailer-able limit.
just have to locate the relays.
Thanks,

You indicated in your OP that you need to tilt the OD's up so you can get it on a trailer? (so I can get the boat on a trailer and transport it safely). A little confused but still think most outdrives have a "tilt" position used to get over sand bars, etc. Did the boat come with a trailer or do you just want to trailer it around from one lake to another? If so, I agree, you need to determine both if and where there is a "tilt" or "trailer switch on your vessel. Let us know what you find out.
Thanks

Mine's a Volvo so I can't help with the solution, but it's easy to disconnect the rams on the outdrive and use ratchet straps to hold them up until you can get it home/to the shop.
