New Regal Forum ?
6 years ago I purchased a 2004 Regal Commodore 2860 ,
Twin 4,3 gxi Volvo Penta
duo props
Was marina stored in a high & dry rack storage ,
Calling ahead boat was in a wet slip , Looking at boat it never sat even , always leaning 2 starboard , I have had so many mechanical issues , including new engines, I was not concerned about a leaning boat. No water intrusion ,
Few months ago I moved boat into a wet slip , Since I am retired I spend a lot of
time aboard nice change enjoying my own slip . Presents new concerns
Painting bottom was costly ,
I am on a mission too find out why boat is leaning 2 inches starboard covering
water line
Anti fouling paint was not painted that high and I am having barnacle growth in that area
This is a balancing issue .
Engines and drives off but engines returned too same mounts
Bilge is dry
Port side has Generator , Deck refrigerator , a/c unit
On starboard side is galley , head , waist tank , batteries , hot water tank
Heavier equipment on port side
Clean water under cabin floor
Fuel under aft cabin
Both centered
There is a drain plug against aft cabin wall , not centered , off too starboard looks like its between fuel tank & waste tank , Pulling plug . DRY
Checking further the whole is plugged , Thinking something got lodged in plug drain ? Purpose of that plug is too allow any water forward too dump into bilge
In aft cabin there is a 12/12 plate that covers the sending units on fuel tank & waste tank . Underneath dry
My son was in engine room tapping lightly the blockage , waste tank was empty , I heard a hollow sound and felt vibration from his tapping , Clearly waste tank is blocking the drain plug that is supposed too allow any water from center of boat , stringers escape
Calling Regal Tech Support too pick their knowledge of this model , My contact
a long time employee said not too bang hard since that drain is near fuel & waste
tanks , but that drain plug is too release any water from center line of boat ,
He did say I can remove the galley cabinet and see center line , I did this and it seemed dry , but very difficult too feel or see anything
No water entering , bilge dry , All areas and cavities I know of and can get too
have no water accumulated
Last resort I will call a surveyor ,
Any fellow Regal Owners experience something similar ?
Thank You
