Hey seaofthesoul, thanks for joining in! Hope you will find the new ROF informative! Would help a lot if you would input your location (yes, you indicate Puget Sound) /model and year of your vesel, propulsion system (gas/diesel/I/O/Vdrive) , dry or wet docked in your salutation. It would make it a lot easier for responders to provide a more accurate answer/response to any of your posts.
Happy Thanksgiving

Hey Soul Brother, I haven't made the change yet.....I will be doing that in the spring but what I did do was disconnect the monitor module. Pulled the plug! See picture of monitor module below. The new unit will be the exact connection at the same location so the wires will be re-used See the two grounds connected to the same lug.

I'm thinking about putting in a USB charging station in its place but its a little weird having it in the middle...or I may just buy a piece of Plexiglas at Tap Plastics to cover the whole bottom of the recess. I contacted a cabinet shop to get a piece of matching laminate but I would have to buy a whole sheet. What would I do withe the balance? Store it like all my other surplus supplies that never see daylight. Go to www.boatoutfitters.com/ , they will cut a piece of King Starboard to your dimensions and thickness you want. Also will do round overs, rabbit cuts, , cut outs etc. They did a 15X18" piece of 1/2" thick King Starboard for me, just rectangular cut, i did the rest in my home shop (it is the 12" JL Audio Baffle Board for our 4160).
