I would like to take the forum to the next level of visibility on the internet, I must plead ignorence in that department.
We can only make this forum attractive, only if the posts are coming in and the conversation is stimulating to the members.
at nearly 350 members, we have the size of audience...now we need to advertise to get more and to get our current members to increase our posts.

Admnin, thanks for the post that we need more exposure! Unfortunately I dont have much experience in that area, hopefully we can get some IT experienced members to chime in! Again, as you are bearing the total expense of this forum and there is a way to expand and it costs more, I would be glad to chip in! I believe you indicated that REGAL has a link on their website? Did a websearch on Regal and need to enter "regalboats.com. On the website you have to go to "dockside chat to link to this forum. What do the rest of you guys think regarding above?

The original Regal Owners forum has 1000’s of users. I’m not sure what critic mass is or how long it take to get there. Now I think there is more activity on the Facebook Regal groups. I think FB is good for some things but I would like to see this forum expand into the 1000’s of users so there is enough constant activity.
It may take some years to get back to where it was.

Guess I am old fashioned but would rather have a dedicated ROF web site than mess with Facebook (of which I dont participate). If the ROF was only on Facebook that is probably when I would just back out.

I didnt know about FB..there are a couple of Regal groups with almost 4000 and 3000 members....even Regal posts in them. Lot of activity in them...disorganized but plenty of info; one has a very good documents repository with manuals.

I have talked with Regal, this forum is the only forum their website links to.
I am open to ideas on growth and moving forward.
I believe with the deep knowledge that we have here, we have a pretty winning combination.

Is there any chance of making this forum Tapatalk compatible? I believe that accessing it via an app would make it more appealing and today most people uses their phones. Using the phone web browser doesnt work so well (i could not even edit my pic avatar from it).

Taptalk (or is it tapatalk in the previous post?) is OK but as I dont use it I would hope the forum would still stay as a self standing entity itself on the www. Sorry to be so old fashioned but at 71 I am kind of set in my ways

Tapatalk should work, I signed up but never went on.
Gofast, nothing will change with the current format, you can still access it normally as you would. Tapatalk is just another way to get in via an APP.

I just posted about us in the 2 Facebook groups. I've had the idea for a while but needed this prodding to do it. I was also going to ask the admins first but @($& it. If they truly just want to help other Regal owners I won't get in trouble. I completely agree a forum is way better than fb for certain things. Namely DIY stuff that you can always find. Fb is more about sharing sunset cruise pics (which is cool) that don't need pulled back up at a later date. "Hello All, Did you know there is a (new) Regal Owners forum? regalownersforum.boards.net/While I enjoy this fb group sometimes a forum is a better venue to share within. Things like troubleshooting, DIY posts, etc are nice to have within a forum. For fb they tend to disappear overtime and its hard to post helpful long form stuff. Anyhow, I thought I'd share this in case you weren't aware. Jon"

Also FWIW I was trying to share my TV thread on one of those fb groups. Searching for the EXACT thread title doesn't show up within Google at all. I have no idea how to fix that (need an SEO member I guess) but that's a big issue in gaining organic traffic.
"3060 - Cabin TV Swap" - Doesn't come up in the first three pages of Google. Any SEO gurus here to explain why?

Jon Today was a great day, we gained a lot of new members without giving our money to google. The power of spreading the word was great.
I get what your saying with the google search, if someone can help me get there...I am happy to do it.
