Appreciate the feedback but I always enjoy feedback with a solution. What would you like the forum to look like? Do you have a picture we can consider for the header?
The reason for my asking and getting everyone’s feedback about the amazon discount, is because I feel the forum isn’t mine...it’s ours and I want member buy in before I make changes.

Guys, get this forum on Tapatalk! Also, can you at least make it look like it was designed after 1998? Maybe being in my 30s is below the demographic you're going for here but I can tell you a big reason why no one posts here is because when you first open the forum, you laugh and think about the old AOL cd in the mail days, then close the page. And yes offering to have "premium" paid accounts is totally acceptable these days. And why are you ASKING people permission to put revenue generating ads on the forum? That's what the internet is for, to make money. Begging a new owner, I want this forum to grow. The regal store discount is pretty solid too... I'd market that more.... Of course whoever is running that store doesn't seem to have any sense of style or knowledge of how to maintain inventory😅😅 Queue the "back in my day" comments... Agree with you comments other than tapatalk, . Back in the days for me was graduating from engineering school in 1971 with a Post versalog slide rule and having a IBM 360 , the thing that used Fortran 4 programing language and yu had to use punch cards to run a program! There were just a handfull of the HP 100? 4 function calculators on campus, no one could afford $400, that was one semester's tuition. So, don't apologize about your being in the younger age group! We need new up to date folks like you!

Overall there are too many sub forums right now. Consolidate in the short term then create a sub forum and move threads after the content is posted. Empty forums will immediately turn people away. Content overload is better than no content at all. If you're going to split the subs into boat sizes, i would at least make it follow how regal classifies boats (bow rider, surf, outboard, cuddy, express). This ambiguous 25 foot line in the sand screams "unsanctioned". A forum closely tied to the manufacturer in as many ways possible has far more legitimacy. "Ask Regal" is a great sub thread and tool. Market that! Signatures need to be made visible on mobile view. What is a pc anyways? Focus on the mobile presentation more than the pc. Don't limit your member pool to the less technologically developed and "boating off season. People don't stop using the internet just because it's sunny and 75 out. Better logo and background images throughout forum pages. This looks like aol just sent me the newest forum version via cd in the mail. Direct link from regals front page. Make an icon (ref better logo) next to the Facebook and Twitter quick buttons. Or combined with regal store link. There is little to no visibility of this forum. Look to other brands forums for guidance. Regal is the only major brand without a decent forum / following.

There is no add photo option on mobile view. Show "likes" count in public username. People love being liked. It will entice more participation. Add emoji options to mobile... They might be available on desktop version i wouldn't know 😉. Offer night mode that inverts color pallet (It's 3am right now, this would be extremely helpful). Lose the get togethers sub forum title. The first thing you see should be General. "Get together" just sounds cult/swing/pedo creepy. "SE Region" or "Central Florida" might be better options. "Member Introductions" create it and have it as one of the first subs. The current one is confusing because it includes 2 topics in the title. Pin a how-to post explaining the signature format here. Request photos to be posted as part of the intro post. The more content here the better.

Those were ideas i posted back in October.
If regal sanctions this forum than use official regal photos and terminology to look more professional!
Go to 5thgenrams.com and see how there forum is setup. I think the issue ultimately is that whatever software is being used to build and support this forum is just dated and options limited.

Regal has given the site its blessing and we have a direct link from their official site.
I have tried playing with pictures but the header ends up stretching the picture or ends up chopping it.
Let me have another look.

Wasn't there another Regal Forum ?? Go on occasionally , for what ever reason when I returned it was gone ? Trying again months later I came across this new Regal Forum and became a member. Its nice too have a forum that Regal owners can communicate with other Regal owners , GOOD & BAD . just a place too talk Regal boats Select group , not as big as a Sea Ray but its nice too talk boats with Regal owners I am Old School 72 - set in my ways , Limited on my computer use , Surf sites that interest me , car , boat stuff , fishing etc What makes me shy away is (jerks) that nothing better too do then say something nasty , then it becomes a debate on how stupid a person can B Owing my 2004 - 2860 Commodore , around 5 years , One day I like it , next day I hate it , Almost a new boat with new engines I- Boats forum has a big base of knowledgeable boaters , Good source for Mercruiser & Volvo Penta mechanical questions Based out of Daytona , Wet slip , twin IO's in salt water not good , but hopefully my anti fowling paint holds up Have a 3 axle disk brake trailer . 15200 towing limit Tow at times but find its a lot of boat too truck around , not fun Add in my old Ford 350 gas engine truck is rear wheel drive , Steep boat ramps I cant get out , not enough torque. So I leave in water , and pull when I must mostly repairs Retired we enjoy cruising. Twin gas engines limits were we go ,
Just wanted too chime in

Welcome grandpaw, you are a few months older than I am (will be 72 july 3rd) , fully understand your comments! Have to wonder if the poster asking what a PC is if he knows what a IBM 360 using FORTRAN 4 with punch cards is Guess we just have to transition into the 2020'S like most of the younger folks? I am content to logging in to this forum, viewing questions and answering the ones I have experience/ knowledge in. I have 3 adult sons/daughters with various backgrounds/education levels(one M.D., one BS, one BSN, and one JD) and they keep me in line with the new tech stuff> Stay safe and hope we all get through this COVID 19 !!

Have to wonder if you went thru 4 years of engineering school with a post versalog slide rule? Also, we didnt have cobal, just fortran 4! Stay safe. Wish we could get something concrete out of the POTUS about what we/states/counties/cities should do? His advice changes every day or two? Dont want to go any farther about POTUS for fear some folks will not agree with my comments

GoFast, I actually only ended up with two associates degrees, one in Liberal Studies and the other in Electronic Data Processing. The only time I used Fortran was in school. Entered the business as a programmer and worked my way up through pretty much managing almost every area of Technology to my current job running Tech for my business as a CTO/CIO. Still working and probably will continue as long as they want me since I enjoy it so much. Will retire when they decide they need the next guy. Good news is that I was able to get my new boat commissioned and launched and I brought it up to my spring/fall marina on the Sassafras River in MD today. Beautiful morning with only a little 1 to 2 foot chop down near the Patapsco River near Baltimore. Flatted out a bit as I got about half way to the Sassafras. Totally flat heading up the Sas to my marina. Saw two fishing boats, commercial and one other cruiser that seemed to be heading through Maryland heading up to the C&D Canal. Then saw a bass boat headed out to fish for sustenance, which is allowed, and a TowBoat USA RIB. Finally, go the new small boat in its slip on the Sas with some help from a couple friends who helped get the lines on the pilings. I'm hearing some scuttlebutt going around the Marina and the Marina store I stopped in that is saying things may change in Maryland soon. I heard that the Marinas are going to start launching boats so they don't get to far behind. Not sure how true that is, but we'll see. I thought you guys may be wanting to see some pictures on the water since most of us have been cooped up in lockdown. I was able to do this since I was officially moving the boat from the marina that couldn't keep me any longer since my boat was taking up space, so with the new ruling by Governor Logan that allows a boat to be moved to its summer marina, I was able to do the trip. I had an email authorizing it from a gentleman from the Maryland DNR in case I got stopped. Didn't need it. I also got a fishing license for the boat as a backup and I had all my fishing gear with me, although under the hatch at the back.

Wow, what a flash-back. The punch card system was in the basement of the UW Madison Computer Sciences building 1977. After school, I had a first gen lap top with a single floppy disc to operate building automation systems. Moved up to dual floppy drives and was living large.
