Interestingly enough, my son and Granddaughter got out to do some fishing for Sustenance yesterday on the Chesapeake Bay. We tried at Ordinary Point on the Sassafras and then in the back of Still Pond. it was a beautiful day, if not a little brisk. Mila, my granddaughter loved being out on the water and fishing, even though she is a little impatient, kind of expecting to catch something on every cast. Unfortunately, our luck was only running for Catfish. No Bass or Stripers (aren't they similar). I'm not a fisherman normally, but it was nice to get out on the water and it was a bit relaxing.
Some pics and a very short video below of the day for those of you who have been cooped up so long you enjoy looking at pictures of other people getting out on the water. The new 33 OBX ran well, finally got the AutoTrim Pro working correctly as I had to go through the setup procedures again. It's nice to have people walk around while we are cruising and have the boat trim itself with no input. While the 33obx isn't a fishing boat at heart, it worked well enough from the forward bow non-skid and the rear swim platform for casting and such.
Fingers crossed that the restriction on pure recreational boating lifts in the first wave of Gov Hogan's Recovery plan. I believe that is the plan and it's targeted for sometime in early May. We won't venture out much fishing till then, but it was nice to get out on the water with my family. In case you are wondering, and I know some might be, my son and granddaughter do not live within my household full time, but both my son and daughter in law have essential jobs. When they both have to go in at the same time, during this lock down I watch my Granddaughter and my grandson. So we are essentially, locked down together, although across two households. So I do not believe we were breaking any rules.
