Hello everyone, I just bought a 2015 28 Express. Love the boat. I noticed yesterday that some fuel or oil is coming from under the swim plateform. I can see it in the water while fueling the boat. I thought the guy that was fueling did a little spill in the water. after leaving the station i anchor in a little bay and while over there, i could still see gas or oil coming out from under the swim plate. When i returned home, i looked for the spill. No leak or smell in the engine space. everything is dry. oil pressure is OK. No gas fume detected. no alarm anywhere. While home, could not see anymore spill in the water. I am guessing i am leaking gas from the exhaust……. But i am really not a mechanic guy. Any thought on what to look for ? Thanks for your help

If you have outdrives probably lower unit lube leaking causing the "oil" film while in the water especially if no lube seen in engine room? Again, would be nice if poster indicated his drive/engine etc., same problem with the Regal Owners Forum, have to send a reply asking for all this infoo in order to give a educated response?I don't know if a 2015 Express is inboard V drive or I/O's without have to google it to make a guess. Thanks

Thanks Gofast24.
2015 28 Express Volvo Penta 380 with duoprop
If lower unit lube is leaking, what are my solutions ? do i need to take it out of water for repairs (wich means no boating this summer) or is there something i can do until i take it out of water ?

The lower drive can only be serviced once the boat is out of the water. I would monitor and try and see where the oil is coming from. Chances are it’s oil as indicated b gofast. Fuel has a long way to travel otherwise unless it’s your vent line and typically the vent is in the same side as the gas cap.
I know LG had a 28 express, maybe he can weight in. @lg260

I would also say it is a bad drive seal. Yes the boat will need to be pulled from the water. A good mechanic can fix that pretty fast, its a common issue with both VP and Merc. I've had that issue and it was fixed by my marina that same week, no lost time on the water.

Just a quick follow up, after some test, it seems problem comes from a leak in the trim pump oy a hose of the trim. Boat will be out of the water next week for repair.
Thank you very everyone for your help.

Thank you very everyone for your help. Ya, didnt know if outdrive or inboards, so, trim tilt cylinder could actually be the cause of oil film on the water below/around the swim platform
