I have to replace my depth sounder on my 2004 2860 Commodore.s. I found the transducer for the old one in the forward bilge under the ste[. Any hints on how to run the new transducer cable from this area up to the cockpit area. All ideas are welcomed! Thanks in advance.

Cut the old cable, tape the new plug to old cable, and gently pull old from dash with new in tow.

Mechanically (join) connect the new transducer cable to the old one and pull old one up where your readout will be, hopefully the new cable will make it through.

Sorry, I should have said that I tried that first. The original cable has wiring mounting clips inside the cockpit dash so pulling it from either direction would not work. I have some access under the dash by removing the gauge and switch panels. I don't see any easily accessible openings. There is an opening on the starboard side of the cockpit, but I have been unsuccessful in accessing it and it seems jammed full of wiring. I am using a fish tape to assist without success. Any other suggestions?

You can remove the forward wall panel sections in the mid berth which will give you access to make the wire run from the forward bilge up into the helm.

Yes, also remove all the cable clips you can access from dash, under access panel, etc. and try again?!
