We need to have our 44’ Regal (14’ beam) transported from Charleston South Carolina to Guntersville Lake near Huntsville Alabama. Does anyone have recommendation on transportation firms?

I bought a 360 Commodore and had communicated with this guy on a few occasions for estimates on moving a couple other boats I was interested in but the deal never materialized. He impressed me as being an honest "stand-up", no BS kind of guy and I WISH I had used him to move the Commodore after the issue I had with the guy I used (lesson learned). I came across his info on FaceBook MarketPlace and he does nationwide transport.

On another interesting note....my son and his family just sold their house on Johns Island and have moved to Guntersville....
Good luck with the move....I'm pretty sure you’ll like that area!

After trying to get bids on different online tools and sending out RFQ’s to a number of companies, I was able to get C and J Transport (www.wcandjtransport.com) to schedule the haul. Doing it Nov 30th, will let you know how it goes (Charleston SC to Lake Guntserville AL)

Just an update. Boat was loaded at Safe Habor in Charleston. Hauled by C&J transport to its new home in Alabama. The crew did a great job hauling it.

Beautiful vessel and glad the move went well! Assume job relocation caused the move? Sorry to be nosey, what did that move cost? Assume travel lift in and out about $400 each end (as you weren't having it serviced at either end like ours) ? For our 4160 pull out and back in (once to get props removed/repaired/balanced) about $427 total but boat didn't go anywhere other than marina service dock .

Yes, new job. Came back from a short retirement to work for a few more years..
We bought the boat in March if 2020, low hours (<300) but not well maintained because it was never used so lots of cleanup and hos dry rot and.... (hey it’s a boat...)
Haul and power wash was $600 Haul was $6.2k New Marina - we’re getting bottom paint done and full detailing so I am estimating another $6k. We are also looking to repaint the hull a black to match the new black tops but not sure the new job pays as much as my dreams....lol

Great info! I'm currently looking at several 4260 with HT and am researching shipping now. Do you recall what the loaded height was? Doesn't look much taller than the truck actually.

We had bridge 10’-7” and I bet no more than 2’ to the ground so 13’ max when on the trailer

Once we cleared everything off the hard top (radar, horns, lights) all accessed by the plate on the inside of the hardtop, the highest point to the bottom of the keel was 10’-7”. With props off, the bottom of the keel to the ground on the trailer was no more than 2’ so all in, 12’-6” from the ground to the highest point on the hardtop

Our boat is loading next week, and we're excited to finally get her home. hawker63 - did you have to remove the rudders too, or just the props?

In case anyone is interested on transporting a 4260/4460 I just put my 2004 4260 on a truck today in San Francisco bound for San Diego. Why didn't I just drive it down? That's another story.... Loaded at 14'7". Bottom of the boat/rudders were 6" off the ground, props removed. Radar, horns, etc removed from the roof. Unloading tomorrow, hoping the 100+ heat and wind didn't affect the trip!
