Hello all -
I had posted a few weeks back about some tips/tricks for our new 33xo. Someone mentioned an 'anchor turner'. I was wondering if there's a particular model or style? Or a link if someone has a recommendation.
Thanks!

www.anchorliftdirect.com/turner-swivels/anchor-turner/ I’m pretty sure I got the one for 66lbs. Website has video on how it works etc. The one I ordered is 965010 anchor turner kit for anchors to 66lbs. Just fits into the anchor locker but worked amazingly well. Join Facebook group Regal - club 32 then search for anchor turner. You will see my posts with more details about this or reply back here if you have any more questions

Thanks rlazar, that is the one I’ve been looking at. It’s going to be great to not have to manually turn my anchor anymore.

We had same problem until I put a swivel on the link from anchor to chain, now it self centers when pulling up (well, 95% of the time)

I had a swivel on mine but it still always came up backwards. I would have to lean down and spin the anchor until it was in the correct position. Once I added the anchor turner then it was 100% correct every time. Physically had to be based on the design of the turner.

Ordered the anchor turner a few days ago.

We have a very small anchor (lost several big expensive ones and sons dive club had a bunch of small freebies so took one) and big guide wings in front of the roller, maybe just lucky? Also, as we normally pull anchor with the fore deck foot switches we are right there when anchor arrives at the roller? Need to be a little sober when hanging over though

Yes, I agree, I have a swivel on the setup on my 33 OBX and it should flip on it's own, but doesn't always do that. On my 4460 I had a slightly larger anchor that stock on that and when it came up in the chocks it would attempt to flip but couldn't due to the size of the top part of the anchor. Thie Anchor Turner would surely help with that boat. I think it would help with my current boat as well, but I need to see if I have enough room for it before the chain hits the windlass. I'll do that in the spring when I get back to the boat.

Obsurdly expensive. A proper anchor and a 'standard' anchor swivel works very well.

Not yet on my 38XO but I will buy it again. I have anchored 5-6 times so far in my 38XO and probably more than 1/2 the tome I have to manually spin the anchor into the right position. On the 38 I have a remote for the windlass so if I can pull up the anchor from the helm and have it orient correctly into the locker while I’m at the helm it will be great.

Obsurdly expensive. A proper anchor and a 'standard' anchor swivel works very well. I wish that were true, but it’s not. And on the 33 express the anchor is mounted through the stem of the boat making it very hard to reach to spin it manually.

On my 33 OBX most of the time the anchor will come up correctly, but I have to slow it down quite a bit right before the first part of the Anchor hits the stem, or it may not flip correctly.
