I figured I would start a thread on the 28 Express. It is definitely a popular Regal model! Ours is a 2013 with the VP 5.7 300HP. I really wish ours had the generator option! But I have heard that a lot of 28 Ex owners have had serious generator issues.

Speaking for myself only.....I just spent a week on anchor and the generator worked flawless and was so valuable. We ran it when we needed hot water and to charge the batteries....its so nice

Would you rather I broke down the popular boats to have their own thread? Instead of lumping them under this thread, I can create something just for the 28 express?

I don’t think that is necessary. Many topics are relevant to many boat models. Different model sub forums would thin the herd too much.

If we get enough traffic we could do sub forums for generation of boats. Like current 28/32 Express etc. And for me the 3060/3360/3860 etc (going from memory on the last two I don't own). As mentioned there are a lot of good information for similar models. But when you get a decade apart not all of the info is relevant. Maybe grouping by ~5 year (or model change overs) makes sense? I do like that you've at least separated by length for now. That provides some breakdown that is useful for general questions.

I have to say the 2 28 Express groups I am in on Facebook are extremely active and lots of good info getting posted on there from 28 Express owners. I am hoping that most of those owners have joined on here after I shared the link with them. I am going to repost on those groups with a link to this thread to see if we can get everyone over here too. This is the link to the "28 Express Club": www.facebook.com/groups/2369026380040540/This is the link to the "28 Express Owners": www.facebook.com/groups/454086955061529/?ref=group_header

Wonder if a dedicated group for the 4160 (etc.) series would make sense? Ours is a 2001 (old like me) but in this category I do have a lot of experience with this older / larger model Regal. The older the boat (and owner:)) the more hands on experience with all facets of the vessel? Since purchasing the 4160 in 2014 I have created a word doc (now 3 full single line pages) with virtually everything done to it regarding service/maintenance/repairs etc. if I could figure out how to post the .doc I would be happy to do so if anyone interested? Just looking saw the "add attachment box in upper right hand corner so I will give it a try if anyone interested?

I do think it makes sense to have threads for the different models. Regal seems to make a model (even may change the names) for a long time and the owners and knowledge build up. I get a lot more out of the specific 28 Express groups on Facebook than I do on the general Regal Owners group. This thread is one of the fist things I check when I hop in the forum.

New (Used) Regal owner! New forum member.
2012 28 express. Low hours, great condition hull and topside but engine room, engine/ gen et al need some love.
Question - What is the secret to filling the freshwater potable tank?
Attached hose at starboard transform water inlet , get pressure to most faucets/shower but can’t seem to get any into tank even after 30 mins of waterhose ‘on’ Manuals, plumbing diagrams not much help and cannot seem to trace any valves or other below. Any thoughts?
Thanks all, look to be a contributor as I get the vessel squared away!

Not sure where it is on the 28 but on other models it's usually located up on the bow area. It would have cap that says water.

Yep one would think but no other waterfill found and no other indicated in schematic/manual. I’m truly at a loss...

The water fill is at the bow, see the link to the regal website.

Appreciate the info, but no other waterfill than transom on 2012s. But mystery solved! - found a valve underneath port bow cabin seating. Open valve, tank fills. Hit water pressure breaker ( after disconnect hose), system pressurized, no leaks and all faucets work;j pulled all faucet screens , will flush and clean tank a few times ..
Onto next project... gen issues...
