I think I asked about this a few months back but I'll put this out again for feedback from anyone that may have a Commodore 360 and know anything about the Monitor Panel in the galley that gives the level of the water supply and waste tanks. When I first took possession of my boat back in March 2020 the Monitor Panel would not light up or indicate water levels. Couldn't even get the digital clock to light up. A couple months went by and then it "magically" started working and did so until this past week. I had the boat hauled out of the water to change the props and replace a cutlass bearing. The boat was on the sled in a building for about ten days with the 12 volt master off and no shore power. When it was back in the water and everything was powered up, the Monitor Panel again does not illuminate. Ship batteries were still at full strength as was the engine batteries....and the boat has been connected to shore power and converter/charger running for the past four days. The Monitor Panel will not light up nor will the clock work. QUESTIONS: 1. Has anyone else had the same type issue and did you figure out a way to get it working? (besides just waiting) 2. Has anyone found an updated "drop in" replacement for this panel or a source for buying another panel (the same one) This is what mine looks like....TIA - JJ

As we have a 2001 4160 our tank level gauges require us to push a separate switch to read either gage to see both fresh and blackwater tank levels so maybe some one with your year vessels would have more info?

I have a similar set up with a spring loaded three position switch for checking the two supply water tank levels and another two position spring loaded switch for the black water tank....only thing that stays illuminated is the digital clock. The clock display can be turned off to reduce power consumption when on only battery power. Seems the "common denominator" here is the vessel being completely shut down (both AC & DC) for a week or more. The display will not work after powering back up. When I put the boat back in the water a week ago Friday nothing on the display workEd. I left the breaker switch for the Monitor Panel turned on and the switch on the display panel Turned off. Went to check on the boat today (After being powered for ten days) and the Monitor Panel (once again) has magically begun working....go figure!

Ya, worse thing to diagnose is a intermittent problem. Good luck!

Likely a loose wire or bad ground if it's intermittent, I just bought this same boat 91 commodore 360 I haven't even looked at panel yet, boat still under cover, previous owner hasn't even cleaned it out yet, summer can't come soon enough now,

Welcome to the forum! Is it possible that you can add the info you see in all the other posts as a salutation in your profile so we dont have to guess what/where/ docks/engines/etc.? Thanks! Also, interesting you bought vessel no survey, sea trial etc?

I did buy no sea trail, I'm system engineer so survey I take with grain salt, but usually they seem to go with worst case scenarios so i do recommend them, especially for hull inspections and wet cores. I was able to get eyes on the boat verify all the parts were there and hull was good, price didn't allow any more time inspections then that. I was hours ahead of 2 other buyers who wanted it, seller had his reasons sometimes a 40' boat just has to go luckily I was waiting. I look forward to getting into the boat systems and seeing what to upgrade first, and check out that tank panel and hopefully be a good resource for any other systems related issues

It was only when the boat was out of the water for about 10 days for props and a cutlass bearing in January that the panel would not light up (no clock display or level indicator lights). Once the boat was back in the water and on shore power for a while, it started working again....it's now March 18th....it would seem that the common thread to this issue is the boat being off shore power and the 12 volt breaker on the electric panel turned off for an extended period of time (more than a week).

Is there a circuit board of any type for the clock or panel? Maybe it has a little capacitor that is being discharged when disconnected from power sources during maintenance.
