Any boaters install a Garmin Grid 20 remote?
I have a new 36XO coming in two weeks and I'm missing my knob on the char plotter so I've purchased a grid 20 to install between the throttles and joystick.
Welcome all thoughts.

I have a grid remote in my 38XO as it cones with it. Originally I thought I would use it a lot but as it turns out I find myself rarely using it.
Using touch screens on the Garmin works well.

I was thinking about something similar as well. I'm still waiting to see what I wind up with on my 36 XO since I didn't get the Garmin autopilot like you did but now told I should be getting Helm Master EX. I was thinking the Grid 20 would be a quick and easy way to access the chartplotter. If I recall you might have said you were getting the dual 16" screens? I am just getting the standard single display so I was thinking I might have more room on the helm display area for additional controls and maybe a dedicated gauge or two like the autopilot display, dedicated depth gauge or the Garmin remote. I have heard from others (similar to rLazer) that they quickly got used to the touch screen controls. I bet you are very excited about the new 36XO, I hope you keep us updated on your experiences with it. Steve |
