Has anyone come up with an alternate way to secure the plastic access panel that has to be removed to access the impeller housing?
It's doable, but a pain to get off and on and I dropped several fasteners into the bilge. That and scratching the heck out of my arm.
I was thinking maybe plastic auto body fasteners since it's just a lightweight cover and not a structural component, but not sure if vibration would be an issue. Not considering threaded inserts due to corrosion possibilities.
I missed this little maintenance gem when I bought the boat and might have reconsidered had I known.

When I had my 1900, I modified all the screw holes to nut plates and problem solved. If you pull it out for access, buy a good stick on insulation and install it, cuts down on the noise measurably.

Would be really great to know what boat you have, model, year, propulsion system , etc. Thanks
