Does anyone know how to remove the overhead trim piece around the head that the surround speakers mount to?

Trim piece or speakers? Think speaker are hung with "key hole : slots, push speakers up hard and try to pull out?

I was able to remove the trim piece. It was held up there with four screws. Using a plastic trim removal tool, I pried lightly on it until I found roughly where the screws were. Near the screws, the vinyl isn’t glued to the foam/wood, so I was able to gently pull the vInyl out and around to access the screw heads. There are three screws around the front, and one in the back between the surround speakers. You do not have to remove the surround speakers to take the trim piece off. My surround speakers were not key holed. They were screwed into the metal brackets from behind. You can only remove the speakers by removing the trim piece to gain access to the screw heads. After removing the trim piece, I was able to access my TV cables and power cable. There is an AC power plug up there between the wall and shower to connect to the TV. I pulled the coax and RCA cables and ran a HDMI cable to the AV cabinet. After running the cable, I reinstalled the trim piece and tucked the vinyl back in place with a plastic trim tool. I’m pretty happy with the results. No more cables running along the wall to the AV cabinet. Sorry, I couldn’t get the pics oriented right when I uploaded them.

Did you glue the vinyl after you put it back up? If so what kind of glue did you use? You mentioned it wasn't glued when you pried it back - then how was it attached? I pulled my vinyl back a bit, found screws just like yours but was afraid I was going to rip the vinyl or not be able to reattach it and it would look awful so I didn't go any further. Want to do same as you and run an HDMI to the receiver above the microwave. I have the same Yamaha speakers you have on my boat. Thanks! -Philip

I didn’t glue the vinyl in case I ever had to remove it again. I gently pulled the vinyl out and around to the screw heads. The vinyl didn’t tear. Upon reassembly, I tucked the vinyl back in place with a plastic trim tool.
