Does any one have the Volvo Dynamic Positioning System (DPS) on their joystick controller? I was hoping to add it to my Regal 35 SC with the twin 300hp gas motors. I am told it works like a virtual anchor (mercury calls it skyhook). I asked my dealer and they said you can't add it to the gas motors only Diesel. Been trying to google around and can't find any specific info saying if it's compatible or not.

Do you currently have a joystick and just want to add DPS or do you need to add the joystick system from scratch? What I do know is I’m pretty sure is pretty expensive to add afterwords. |

As of a couple years ago Volvo was not offering this option with sterndrives, only IPS drives had the option. I think Volvo now has a new outdrive that they offer this option with

My 35C is a 2018, it has Volvo glass cockpit and also has joystick. Its definitely an IPS drive. Just looking to add DPS option, the button is there it's just blank. I am wondering they confusing with advanced DPS that was just announced that will actually dock your boat. Sort of like parallel parking  |

My 35C is a 2018, it has Volvo glass cockpit and also has joystick. Its definitely an IPS drive. Just looking to add DPS option, the button is there it's just blank. I am wondering they confusing with advanced DPS that was just announced that will actually dock your boat. Sort of like parallel parking 35 sport coupes are not available with IPS. IPS are pod drives that stick out the bottom of the boat. You have duoprop out drives that hang off the transom. The dynamic positioning system is not available with regular duoprop drives. The button is blank on my 2019 33 express but it doesn’t mean it is an available option. Volvo makes 1 joystick and they use it for several different applications. The new Volvo outdrive that is available with Dynamic positioning system is the DPI drive. It is currently only available with diesels and came out in 2019-20 |

I just looked at the sticker on the boat and see you are absolutely right, not sure where I got in my head it was a pod drive. VOLVO TWIN V8 300C DP EVC W/JOYSTICK, guess DP means duoprop.
