On our new amazing Regal 36XO, the bow thruster control rubber boot keep coming off. Actually told by a surveyor it happens to all of them. So.... I replaced with the puck. How come this is not the standard. Just as easy to use and comes with a cover. Fits the exact hole patten and wire connection. See photos before and after. Note: I also added another mic clip. The factory install has the cord drooping down. Tom

tmuller:
The new thruster looks amazing! Would be a good thing to recommend to Regal.
I like what you did with the microphone placement. Capt Steve from Boattest.com would be proud since that's something he always complains about (e.g. dangling mic cord). How was the original microphone clip mounted? Did it leave screw holes after you moved it? If so, how did you fill them? Can you add a picture of that?

I just added another mic post as I too was wondering what to do with the holes. So now I have two points to hold it. Photo will show where it was originally. I guess to be ambidextrous. You'll also see my red marking where I'm installing the Garmin Grid20. Attachments:

tmuller: I'm excited to see the Grid 20 and get your opinion of how it works. I think I will be copying a lot of your modifications! Anything else you plan to do with the boat besides enjoy it? Also when you get a chance could you count your speakers? I found some Regal literature that lists 10 speakers plus subwoofer and I can only find 8. Two in the bow, two across from each other at the helm and jump seat area along with the subwoofer, two across from each other at the rear of the salon area, and then two aft facing at the transom under the lounge area. That adds to 8 plus subwoofer. I was very surprised to learn that there are no speakers at all in either the fore or aft cabin area.
The one mod I'm thinking about adding is a front washdown in the anchor locker. Given the sandy bottom where you boat you probably don't need it but in the muddy Chesapeake area I'm thinking it might be helpful. I was going to tap into the water line near the fresh water tank under the fore mattress area and add a small pressure triggered pump motor and then run a hose up to the bow locker. I don't know how hard it would be to run power cables to the accessory switch.

There is plenty of sound. Maybe 9 not 10. Please not any in the cabin. Ha.
I will say Fusion makes a Bluetooth puck that we placed on the sunpad and set to bow so my daughters can change their volume. Works awesome. May add one to the transom for sandbar time.
