First post so thank you in advance for any assistance at all. Last season it seemed like my engine (VP 5.7Gi) was running rich. Rough idle and smelled like it was rich. The injector spray pattern wasn't horrible but both were dripping a little down the middle while running. Everything I've replaced on the engine so far has been straight up GM parts and I know the TBI unit is a Rochester so I figured replacement injectors would be easy. The part number on them is 17084304*A. I found someone selling reman injectors on ebay with part number 17084304 (missing the *A) so I messaged him and he said they were the same. I installed them yesterday and the engine barely runs with the new injectors. I took a little video of the injectors when I started it up photos.app.goo.gl/Qr5d5xSuVLTYctKG7 Sorry for the crappy video. That's not the camera shaking, it's the engine. Barely ran, shaking, smoking, etc. I didn't notice til I looked at the video myself that one injector spray pattern doesn't look that bad. Any thoughts if I got the wrong injectors or just got a crappy set?? I've put the old ones back so I can at least use the boat if I want. Thanks again everyone Sorry, can't get the link to work. If you copy it and ad the https:// to the beginning it works.

TBI would be a single injector in the "what looks like a carburetor" so seems you have port injectors? Would be really really helpful to know what model and year vessel you have

'96 Ventura 7.0 VP 5.7 Gi Rochester TBI 2 injectors. Hasn't changed since last post 😀 I have the original GM injectors in it now and I wanted to see if it ran good enough to take out today. Ran like it has, idles a little rough until it warms up then it's not bad, however today after running only a few minutes it started spitting watery oil out of the vents on top of the valve covers. I had just checked the oil the last time it ran and it was clean and full. It took less than 5 minutes to fill the crankcase with water. Took forever to get the sludge out of it. Pulled the plugs and got 120 - 140 psi compression in all. I'll pull the intake tomorrow because I read somewhere they crack occasionally. Whatever happened happened quick. Any ideas, anyone ??
