I have a 2001 4160 with the hydraulic swim platform. There are 2 support arms underneath the platform (port and starboard) that are attached with 3 bolts each. The aft most bolt on the starboard side has started to pull through the top of the swim platform to the point where the wood core of the platform is starting to be exposed. Some of the other 5 bolts appear to be starting to do the same thing. Has anyone else experienced this? Attachments:

I have the 4460. I was looking at putting a dingy on the swim platform but was advised that these swim platforms aren’t really bui,t to have anything added. From the looks of the pictures, my guess is that when it was drilled through, it doesn’t look like it was sealed or if it was, maybe vibration overtime has allowed water to penetrate and start to weaken the wooden core. I’d check with regal, but my guess is if you want to keep the platforms, you’ll need to add some backing plates on the top side of the platform to spread out the load and try to seal all openings after trying to dry out the core.

I have a 3860, so smaller in general but I had to have my entire swim platform removed and re-cored. I would suggest you get a water meter on it ASAP and track from the outside edges inward to see if you have moisture in the core anywhere. Mine isn't submersible but Regal didn't seal the bottom edges which led to wicking upwards through the gusset/supports and into the core.

Agree! But make sure wood core isn't wet before doing above. If wet, problem will just re appear in a year or two.
