I have a 2009 Commodore 2665.
It doesn't have a generator.
The refrigerator only works when on shore power AND battery power combined.
Shore power alone won't get the fridge to run.
Any thoughts?

That's because your fridge is 12v only. When on shore power (110) you still have to turn on 12v and fridge breakers on the panel. Turning on 110 and converter also will keep your batteries from depleting.

If actually a AC/DC fridge we had to replace the AC/Dc rectifier module on back top of fridge a few years ago. Still running fine but $$$ for replacement part!

If actually a AC/DC fridge we had to replace the AC/Dc rectifier module on back top of fridge a few years ago. Still running fine but $$$ for replacement part! I think I’m having a similar problem. I have an AC/DC cockpit refrigerator and up until recently it was working on shore power only. What’s really odd though is it only works when the main battery switches are turned on. This is even when the refrigerator is turned off at the dc panel in the cabin. It’s a Vitrifrigo C62IXD4-F-1 module. How hard was it to replace the rectifier module?

Google your fridge, look for parts exploded view, then you might see where module is. For us, just pulled fridge/freezer out and behind on right top the module. Easy, but part expensive as it is a "marine" fridge!

If actually a AC/DC fridge the compressor runs on DC (assume a DC only fridge also has a DC compressor but no AC/DC module) . So, the AC module on fridge only converts AC to DC to run it. If it only works on shore power either your DC breaker is tripped or house battery dead?

If fridge DC only (looks like it is) leave DC fridge breaker on and while on shore power the house charger will basically provide the power to house battery to power fridge. Does fridge run when not on shore power? If not, house battery dead or house charger bad.

Thanks, fairly certain it’s an AC/DC fridge. It used to work on ac power only, but stopped. Haven’t had a chance to pull it out yet. May end up replacing it as door is a little bit bent anyway. Can’t seem to find a place that has just the parts.
This is what the manufacturer web site says for power:
D power (standard) Dual electronic box 12/24Vdc - 100-240Vac 50/60Hz

Couldnt find anything for marine AC/Dc fridges on that site? Not even the usual mfg's of marine fridges. We have a Nova Kool Model RFS7500, no results searching. Googled mfg. shows AC/DC and Power supply C62IXD4-F (internal cooling unit). Have to believe Power module service part $$$ if you can find one?

Thanks for the feedback. One follow up question. I started this thread by asking for help with my refrigerator (2009 Commodore 2665). As seen above, the fridge only works on shore power and battery power. Following the advice above, when on shore power I recently kept the batteries (2) on, the converter on, and the breakers on. When I got to the boat, the "starter battery" was totally depleted. Couldn't even take a recharge. Had to buy a new battery. Should I only keep the secondary battery on, with shore power, to keep the fridge working? Will it deplete the second battery? Confused and tired of drinking warm beer! Please help.
